I Rode A Bus Going Home by usagi-shikibu
I went to the grocery store to buy some vegetables for dinner tonight. As I rode the bus going home, well, sitting comfortably, probably sleeping, I felt somebody caressing my beautifully pig-tailed hair (beautifully, I'd say…). I quickly reacted because I thought the bus was hijacked or what. I immediately stood up and slapped the face of the person behind me with my grocery bags, left and right. Eventually, I come to recognize who I was slapping at. Oh my God! That was my one and only Mamoru.
I blushed (who wouldn't..) and saw what I have done. Mamoru had a reddish face yet, he just smiled at me and giggled. Didn't he ever had hard feelings? Well, that was my Mamoru. I looked at him closely, and I thought, he was cuter with his red cheeks rather than rosy cheeks. But, that doesn't mean I should slap him whenever we see each other.
He just sat beside me. Mamoru told me to stand up. I stood up and he, too. Yes, I was quite curious. He looked straightly at me as if he was to say something very, very serious. I became surprised. Know why? He kissed me in front of the people inside that bus. Then, he requested the bus driver to stop for a while.
I heard the passengers whispering. They might have thought about Mamoru's intentions. Next, Mamoru announced to everybody, "I'm going to marry this woman. The woman I love. All of you are witnesses of our engagement.". "Engagement!", I surprisingly marked.
He kneeled in front of me and said the words I long dream shall be mine, "Will you marry me?". My heart jumped to joy as I put those words in mind. Immediately, he put out a small red box, opened it, and there was, a diamond ring, every woman's best friend and every woman's dream.
I noticed a net hanging on the ceiling, extending from the driver's to the last seats. I didn't know what was inside yet there was a string beside Mamoru connecting to the net. I was supposed to say "I do" but Mamoru pulled the string and everybody in the bus had a shower of rose petals confetti. It was a dream engagement coming true, it was more than I expected.
"I do", I romantically, sweetly said. He got up and kissed me. The passengers applauded and bid their congratulations to both of us.
At the house's doorstep, he gave me another kiss. What a sweet guy! My luck too because he was the man, that night was a blue moon, and the wind was right, and I was engaged.
