In Lily Evans' opinion, being Head Girl of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had some definite plus-sides; Lily's favorite being the balcony off the bedroom of her private chambers. The stone balcony was quiet, peaceful, and even adorned with real lilies-of-the-valley in her honor. At this point in time, our redheaded heroine sat on the balcony's railing with her legs dangling, a copy of Beowulf laid across her lap. Seeing as though it was quite dark outside (it was nearly 2 a.m.), Lily was reading by wandlight.

*

* Unfortunately for the poor book of epic poetry, Beowulf wasn't getting much attention from its intended reader. Lily's thoughts were on something else. And, like in all good stories, this something happened to be a boy.

With his jet-black hair that never wanted to stay in place, to his stormy eyes that seemed to change colors to fit his fluctuating moods, to his muscular Quidditch build (Rugby and Soccer be dammed), to his perfect skin tone; all the way to his masculine voice that was playful to his friends, either husky or slick as oil to his various female conquests, to sharp and cold as a blade to any who crossed him; James Potter was the most popular guy at Hogwarts. ((A/N: That was a ridiculously bad sentence, wasn't it? Bad grammar? Run-on? *Tsk* tsk* shame, Erina, shame.))

* At the same time Lily was "reading", James was playing his prized- possession, his silver electric guitar. And, like all the good songs, the song he was playing was about a girl. *

Author's Note: I hope you like my Super Short Prologue, the actual Chapter One should be out fairly soon. I would really like at least ten reviews so I can get your initial reaction to it, and so I can take it in the direction you all would like to read. Your feedback is CRUCIAL to me! Thank you.
