Spike Meets Candy Fanfiction by Otaku Val

Chapter 1 Vicious stood there at the window, thinking, wondering, if he would ever get another chance to kill Spike. He had barely escaped with his life last time Spike came to him. That's it, he thought, instead of making Spike come to me, I'll come to Spike! He laughed quietly under his breath. Then he began to think again. But I'm so busy. I'll have to have one of my subordinates go instead. But who is loyal enough to do so? A woman walked in behind Vicious from the shadows. Her silky black hair waved around her. "I'll help you, Vicious." Her voice was calm and she wasn't smiling. Vicious turned to her, "Candy, you've always been able to read minds. How on Mars do you do that?" "Oh, I guess being psychic has its advantages." Vicious smirked. "Okay, Candy, I have a job for you to do." "Yes, I know," she replied, "You're about to say that you want me to follow Spike Spiegel until you can get there to kill him yourself. That's what you are about to say." Vicious wasn't surprised. "Well, yes, now I want you to make sure that." Candy interrupted, "You want me to be sure that I don't kill him because you want to do it yourself. I understand, Vicious." "Took the words right out of my mouth. Now remember, I'll be the one to have his blood. Now go!" Candy turned around, her waist-length black hair flowing behind her sleek black syndicate uniform. "You won't be disappointed," she said as she walked away.
Spike delivered another kick to the stomach of his opponent. The enemy grunted and threw forward his fist to punch Spike, but it was dodged just in time. "Huh?" the man said, and turned around to see Spike standing in front of him smiling in that "gotcha" sort of way. "Well, well, looks like the 500,000 reward is already in my wallet," he said, and delivered the final punch in the jaw. "Nice one, Spike-o!" a deep familiar voice cheered. It was Jet Black, Spike's bounty hunting partner and friend. "Well I don't think your battle was that great. I've done better." Another familiar voice. It was Faye Valentine, that annoying woman who would always get in the way of bounty hunting for Spike and Jet. Jet scowled, "Well at least Spike actually GOT the bounty, Faye. You've caused us to be eternally broke, little Miss Accidentally-Kill-The-Bounty-Or-Get- In-The-Way-So-That-Either-Way-We-Don't-Get-Paid!" Faye huffed, "Oh shut up. Let's just hurry up and go now to drop this clown off at the police station and claim our woolongs."

"Welcome, are you here to claim a bounty?" the solemn voice of the receptionist asked. "Yeah, we are," Jet replied, and he pushed the bounty over to the waiting receiver man. The receptionist sighed as if she were bored. "Okay, this is Jerremy McCoy, worth 500,000 woolongs. Here's your money. Thank you and please come again." "Finally!" Spike said. "Glad that's out of the way. We finally got paid for once!" Faye smiled. "I'm going to use my share at the casino. Ta-ta!" "Of course," Spike said, and he walked off to spend some of his share. As he stepped outside of the building, he turned around. The receptionist was walking behind him. Spike shrugged and walked on. He turned a couple corners, then looked behind him again. The receptionist was still there! "Is she following me?" he asked himself. The woman whistled innocently as she followed Spike. She had long waist-length black hair and a bored expression on her face. Puzzled, Spike walked a bit faster then when he saw his ship he jumped inside. He started it up and zoomed away. Several minutes later he looked back, and there she was in her own racing ship, black as pure darkness. "What does she want?" Spike wondered as he sped off trying to lose her.
