Love
By James Potter
You could smell it in the air.
Everyone could see it.
It was so obvious.
Like a fact.
You could see it was true.
He was in love . With her.
And she was said to be in love.
With his best friend.
Everyone knew.
That for a fact.
It was not true.
Though he knew. He could not get her . He tried.
Believing.
Most Dreams.
Do Come.
True.
There. I'm done. This sappy poem took me forever to write. And I got it done just in time, for the deadline.
Valentine's day.
Yes, I know you're all thinking, "Well, it's obvious that James is going to give the poem to Lily Evans. He loves the girl, for Merlin's sake!"
Well, you're wrong. Though I did want to give it to her. I thought better of it. I mean,
she already knows that I'm in love with her, and everyone except me is supposed to know
that she loves me too.
But she says she doesn't. She says she loves my best friend, Sirius Black. Ha. Sirius
couldn't see love if it slapped him in the head twice with a neon plastered wand. He isn't
the most romantic of us, the Marauders. Naturally, I am. Well, Remus is quite the Lady's
man. but I am the one who can make most of the girls my age swoon. But this time I
only want one girl's attention. And Lily Evans won't ever even consider kissing my lips.
And I want her badly.
She knows it too. I told her. Oh so many times. But she just smiles and says in her
beautiful tinged voice, 'Only true love you will soon for seek through your life, James
Potter. I am only to wait, until you find it.'. It doesn't make any bloody sense when she
talks like that. And still it drives me to only wanting her more.
Which sucks, because she wants Sirius, and not me.
But someday. she'll be mine. All mine.
I'll love her (even though I already do), and she'll love me.
And I'll show her my poem. (
