Hey everyone! I have one A/N before I begin. For this story The characters
will not be coming out of sixth grade and going into seventh. They will be
going from their freshman to sophomore year. Okay Btw please review it
gives me incentive to write!!!
Chapter 1: A day in my ho-hum life
"Did you see how Ethan looked at Julianne today? I had that exact skirt
on like last week and he didn't even notice!" Lizzie said exasperatedly. Miranda
nodded and played with her hair as Lizzie went on and on about him. Miranda
had gotten over Ethan in the 7th grade, but Lizzie she still wanted him no matter
how dumb and shallow he was. I just tuned Lizzie out, boy had I heard my fair
share of Lizzie's rants about Ethan. One minute she was upset with him about
something stupid, and the next she was going on about his "gorgeous" eyes.
Gordo rolled his eyes at me and I suppressed a giggle. We were all so
bored with Ethan. We rounded the corner into the lunchroom and Ethan came up
to Lizzie and said a quick hello. Instantly Lizzie's ideas about Ethan changed and
she smiled and talked about how "incredibly hot he was." Gag.
We took a seat at our usual table and ate our usual lunches. Gordo chomping down on a sub and chips and never gaining an ounce. Miranda
munching on a weird new kind of sandwich she had invented, this morning it
happened to be marshmallow fluff with cut up strawberries, and Lizzie spooning
some raspberry yogurt into her mouth always watching what she ate. Me I never
ate lunch, but not because I was cutting back, but because some moronic school
board member had opted to make our lunch at 9:30 in the morning and I simply
wasn't hungry. This was my life predictable and boring. The thought of having to
do this for 10 more days until the end of 9th grade made me want to wring
Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo's neck for being oh-so predictable.
I was zoning out again. After one year in high school we had made a
niche for ourselves. We weren't popular or geeks we were the normals. But I
glanced over at the "popular" table and glared at them. If looks could kill. I
wondered how they had it soooo easy. All the girls were thin and tan and all the
guys were cute and hunky and it looked effortless. I sighed. The only people I
had ever been friends with were Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda. I love 'em all to
death but oh what I would give to be like Claire Miller for one day.
I zoned back in and noticed Lizzie was still rambling on about Ethan and
about how she had to lose some weight so he'd notice her. I stood up and
walked out into the hall without a word. Not that I thought anyone would care
anyway. No one cared anymore. Not since I lost Gordo. My mind raced. What
had happened? Gordo used to like me I thought back to 7th grade. Me and
Gordo always hung out without Lizzie and Miranda. He had even kissed me once.
Now whenever I talked with him it seemed all he cared about was Lizzie. He
liked him a lot. It was torture to watch him drool over her daily.
The bell rung shrilly interrupting my train of thought and I headed back into the lunchroom. Sure enough no one really cared that I had left. They all
asked if I was okay, but if they really cared they would have come to get me. Oh well.
I knew what was coming next a whole 4 more periods of boring academic classes. Oh joy! I joined up with the gang an and fell into step on another
average boring day in Dullsville, aka Hillridge
Hey thank you for reading. Hope you liked it. Next chappy we will find out why Kate really wants to go to camp in the first place. The we'll get into her going there! Please please please review if you want more!
