The Battle
Men gather 'round, young and old,
Like in a story we were once told.
Fear in their eyes, give us quite a scare,
For they are going where none of us dare.
They pick up their swords with trembling hands,
They will stand up and protect their lands.
They put on their amour, hard as steel,
They possible finish their very last meal.
For they are going to war today,
Leading their people out of harms way.
The enemy invades, weapons are drawn,
The Battle begins at the break of dawn.
Arrows are shot, slaying the foe,
Hopes are high as he draws his bow.
Swords are swinging, arrows flying,
Noble men fight though many are dying.
Courage is hanging but by a thread,
Men fall to the ground, they are dead.
The men start retreating into the deep*,
The women and children disturbed in their sleep.
The men ride out, barge though the gate,
The army they face is much too great.
At the break of dawn, a wizard appeared,
On the east hill and then he neared.
Followed behind him, ready to fight,
Were two thousand men, filled with great might.
Victory was cheered, as the last one was slain.
Many were lost in this unmerciful game.
