Sara couldn't believe she was crying. Especially in front of Catharine. She kicked herself for feeling so betrayed by a man she didn't even love. She was in love with Grissom, not Hank. But even her rational side couldn't stop the hurt.
Catharine dropped her off at her apartment after their Sara was grateful for Catharine's attempts to console her, but she felt no better. She could think of only one person who could accomplish that feat: Gil Grissom. With that thought she drifted into an oddly restful sleep.
Walking into work not too many hours later, Sara felt a little embarrassed, not sure what to expect of her coworkers. She had let too much of her emotions show, and had left herself vulnerable.
She felt the hand on her shoulder and instantly knew it belonged to Grissom. Their eyes met as she turned around and Sara smiled. His eyes told her that everything would be ok.
That was all she needed.
