Letting You Find Me

I give myself to you,

not because I love to live,

but because I live to love.

This darkness,

This foreboding,

that has settled in my soul,

deters me from that recognition.

How can I describe to you,

what I am,

And not fear the pain of losing you?

My secret,

My past,

My burden.

This is what I am,

It is not who I am.

Can you look beyond my masquerade?

My black past?

These ropes that bind my heart,

cut deeper into me,

with every moment I am near you.

Yet your presence strengthens me as well.

These ropes will not bind forever,

The truth is not far from us all.

A/n: I wrote this, not really having a story to match it to, but then I thought about it for a while, and Smallville came to mind. You know, how Clark feels about Lana. And then I thought about it more (I'm a deep thinker, ;p) and then I decided that it would be more appropriate for it to be a poem by that dude (How specific!) to Lana in the episode, 2nd season, where he's "stalking" her (according to Clark). Dern, I just forgot his name! Anyway, he wrote her all of those poems, and was a really nice guy, but couldn't be exposed to sunlight? Yeah, w/e. You guys can decide who its about, if ya want. It could be either or. Anyway, drop me a review. This is my first poem that I posted. I just want to know if you guys thought that it was even semi- good. plz review? BIG thanx!
