I first read LotR (and Hobbit, and Silmarillion. LUV Silmarillion:)) when I was 13 (YUP, a waaaaaaaaaay before the movie came out). Shortly after that I read it again. And again. And again...and again. But, recently I started reading it in original, in English. And I couldn't believe how much better it sounds in English! Especially the poems!
Ahhhh, translations suck! Honestly.
Anyways, I wrote a little poem last night. World just isn't the same without elves...

Feye Morgan, I hope you'll like it :)

Departure

Mallorn leaves I must forsake
Silver rivers, sunlit lands
Snow-white swans and crystal lake
Soothing song of nightingales

My path lies elsewhere
Far from here
Western wind will show me way
Shimmering stars on evening sky
Whisper now: Hoist your sail

Darkest depths will scare me not
Countless miles nor raging storm
My yearning heart will lead me home
Where sorrow dies, and song is born

EƤrendil's guiding light
Takes me to the pearl-strewn shore
I'll cast my anchor
Find my rest
On endless strands of Valinor
