Summary: Who said you can't fall in love with a co-worker?
"Parker!" An older man with thinning hair barked at a young brunette man as he passed by an open door.
"Sir?" Peter Parker replied, sticking his head in the door and smiling at the unfamiliar blonde girl sitting in front of his boss' desk.
"This is Chloe Sullivan. I want you to show her around and get her settled in her desk." The man answered, closing a folder and handing it to the blonde girl.
"Yes, sir." Peter said, entering the room and crossing to the girl.
"Thank you." The blonde, Chloe, said, shaking the older man's hand and turning to Peter. "Ready?" She asked.
Peter smiled at the familiar fire in her eyes---a fire that reminded him of his own passion.
"Of course." Peter replied, holding the door open cordially. "Ladies first."
"I think I'm going to like it here. New York isn't too scary so far." Chloe said, turning to shake Peter's hand after he shut the large door behind him. "I'm Chloe Sullivan, investigative reporter."
"Peter Parker, free lance photographer, adopted by the Bugle." He replied, noting her firm hand shake. "So I take it you're not from around here." Peter started as they made their way down the length of the corridor.
"Astute observation. I was born in Metropolis, Kansas, but graduated from Smallville High a few years ago. I'm more adapted to small towns than big cities."
"Well, it's not as bad as it seems. I was born here, and I've survived." Peter replied as they turned a corner and met a hallway of doors. "Columnists." Peter waved his hand up and down the hall.
"I see. That's actually kind of how I started my writing career too."
"Kind of?"
"I was editor in chief at my high school's paper, but I wrote articles that were mostly opinion pieces in almost every issue."
"Sounds like you had a lot of power."
"I like to think so." Chloe said, smiling brightly as Peter led her down another hallway. "Isn't the infamous Superman from Smallville?"
"Yup. I can't imagine I knew him though. The guys I knew once I was transported weren't exactly the superhero type."
"Neither were any of the people I knew in high school, but yet---Spiderman lives."
Chloe opened her mouth to speak when her cell phone rang. "Hang on---" Chloe said as she dug for her phone and flipped it open. "Chloe Sullivan--- I'm being shown around right now. Ok, I'm sorry I didn't call sooner. I promise---as soon as I get home---ok, I love you. Bye."
Chloe sighed and shut off her phone, stuffing it back in her messenger bag.
"Boy back home?" Peter inquired.
"My Dad. He's just a LITTLE over-protective." Chloe grinned. "Why? Jealous?"
"Maybe---" Peter said as he began down the hallway again.

"My first time to have my name in the headlines." Peter grinned down at the girl in his bed as she reached over to grab the paper from him.
"Bulge's Very Own Wed." The blonde read. "I think I like it." She replied, grinning up at her husband.
"I like you better---" Peter replied, leaning on top of Chloe.
