Between Brothers
Two brothers both abandoned in some way by their older siblings, struggle to find some stability in the lives they now lead. One day they stumble over each other and talk, talk about how it was before, how it is right now, and how they hoped it will be in the future.

Author's Notes :: I've always wondered
on how Christian and Jeff interacted in RAW. Both of them being younger brothers
abandoned in some way by their older siblings. It doesn't help that they are
often overshadowed by their respective tag team partners too.
So here is the fic, I hope you guys enjoy it ^_^. Oh yeah, please review, it
really helps with the whole "creative process". Thank you again ^_^.
Standard Disclaimer :: Christian, Jeff Hardy and other wrestlers found in
this fic are not mine, they are owned by the WWE... Suing me do no good
considering I have no money... all I own is *pauses to think* I own... well...
hell I don't think I own anything.
Rating :: PG mostly for the language, rating may go up in the latter
chapters.

Prologue Alone, He Hoped
The incessant rattling usually bothers ordinary people.
The thing is, he isn't that ordinary anymore.
A sigh, as he gathers his knees closer to his chest.
It was actually a blessing, the rhythmic beating that acted as his background.
Most people wouldn't even dare come and barge in. The fact that it was also
barely lit by a dim light bulb helped immensely too.
All he wanted was to be alone. If he needed to stay in this god-forsaken place
to achieve it... then let it be...
Another sigh as his thoughts drifted elsewhere...
He values this pseudo-silence as much as he values his own sanity... if he can
be called sane at all...
A short laugh...
Suddenly... footsteps... first soft, then becoming increasingly louder...
It was breaking the monotonous rattling that was his haven...
He tried to look up...
Tried to... that is. He was too tired to even hold his neck up straight...
squinting, he could just make out the hazy edges of a shadow rapidly closing
down on his position.
The footsteps became louder... almost too loud to bear...
He pressed his knees closer to himself.
Doesn't the intruder know that this was 'his' territory? Doesn't he know that
staying here and just dwelling in his own self-pity was the only thing that kept
him from spiraling down to insanity?
Doesn't he?
He wanted to jump up, shout back, push the intruder away and kick his ass for
being such an unmerciful prick...
But all he did was to utter a small groan and rest his head back in his folded
arms.
Gods, he was pathetic... but at least he knows...
A small bitter smile...
At least he knows...
The lights shifted... at the cracked cement based ground, he can make out the
dark outlines of a body looming over him, the footsteps have stopped too...
Silence passed over the two men... finally giving himself up to curiosity, he
glanced up...
Only to reach startled blue-grey eyes...
"Christian?"

Author's Notes :: Very short prologue, I may say... Chapter 1 is now in the
works, and until it is finished, please review! Anything and everything is
welcome, even constructive criticism. So until next time... and thank you for
reading!
