The Prenuptial Omelet
"hhhhh, Stupid kingdom!" Van mumbled under his breath as he kicked his feet up and leaned back in his chair. Running a whole kingdom was a pain in the ass.
He heard a rustling noise; someone must have come in he thought to himself. He looked up and saw that it was Hitomi. That was another problem that was nagging him. He knew how he felt about her, but how she felt about him was still a mystery. He sighed to himself again.
Suddenly he realized Hitomi was looking at him really funny. "Huh? What?" he asked. "Are you okay? You look really tired."" "It's just all this administration stuff, it's really annoying." Hitomi considered his response for a moment and tilted her head to one side. "You need an omelet!" "Uh..no thanks 'Tomi, I have a lot of work to do, I'm not really in the mood for food."
Upon his reply a subtle change overcame her features; she suddenly resembled a murderous panther ready to claw the shit out of his face. "I am going to make you an omelet." She growled, pronouncing each syllable precisely. "Okay. I really want an omelet." He giggled nervously. He knew better then to mess with a pissed off Hitomi. "Yay!! I'll go make one now!" She skipped off in the direction of the kitchen. Oh God, thought Van, I'm screwed. He tried to concentrate on his reports, but somehow he could not stop thinking about his impending doom. Why was he such a wimp? If he couldn't even say no to an omelet, how the hell was he going to be able to tell her he loved her? He sighed again. Well no time like the present to change things.Right??? Slowly he made his way towards the kitchen. He quietly entered the room, trying not to attract attention. Inside the kitchen Hitomi was softly humming to herself as she chopped onion and tomato. He leaned back against the wall and watched her work. Her movements were strangely hypnotic, and he spent several minutes simply leaning there and observing her actions. Suddenly, and not of his own accord he was sure, his legs began to move. Slowly and quietly he crept up behind her, he softly slipped his arms around her waist and whispered "Guess who!" She gave a start as his arms pulled her to him. "Van? What are doing?" "I'm thanking you for the omelet." he said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world "Don't let me interfere with your cooking."
Hitomi shivered slightly. Van was the most amazing, sweet, annoying and confusing man she had ever met, damn she loved him! But he was sending her so many mixed signals it was INSANE. She felt him nuzzle her neck and tighten his hold upon her waist. How could he act like this one minute, and totally ignore her the next? Ah well, she'd enjoy it while it lasted. She sighed and leaned back into his embrace.
To be continued..
Well? What did you people think? I'll try and get the next chapter up soon, but I make no promises. As always I have tons of homework. Also I detest typing.hehehe. Once I feel less lazy I'll type up chapter two for marital problems. Drop me a line and tell me what you think, my e-mail is butter_duck@hotmail.com. Thanks for reading and please review!!!!
