Okay, this is just something I've had sitting in my head that migrated to my paper during a boring class. I own Elery, but that's it. Don't forget, I love reviews!

The heat made the skin on the back of Elery's neck sizzle. /This is it,/ she thought. /This is how I'm going to die./

She dropped all her mental shields as she'd been taught, preparing to become one with the Force. Her heart pounded in her ears, the final measure in the soundtrack of her life.

The brilliant red blade darted around to the front of her throat, forcing her to stand and meet her assailant's eyes. The malice in the eyes frightened her, burning into her exposed mind. They were fierce and feral, with red and yellow rims around the pupils. The twin black holes in the center held her gaze, dragging her deep within his brain . . .

The pain ripped through her, leaving a trail of fire across her back. She yelped, but a second crack of the whip froze her voice in her throat. She was alone, cold in the emptiness of the darkened chamber. She was blinded by intense lights and numbed by the pain of thousands of needles piercing her flesh and injecting their poisoned pigment. She experienced the thrill of her first kill, the persistent pain in her bones draining away with the life of her victim.

Elery took a step back, startled by the torture this strange young man had endured at the hands of his master. His eyes were pleading now, begging for help. Elery walked forward haltingly until she was close enough to touch his face. She reached up, filling her touch withy the healing energies of the Force. Gently she traced the red and black pattern tattooed onto his skin. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'm so, so sorry."

She felt only a prickle from the proximity of the blade before she was unable to feel anything at all.
