Tristan sat down at the mall, eating lunch with his friends, listening to Brad drag on about his flavor of the week.

"Hey you guys aren't that Rory Gilmore? Who's the haughty with her?" said Max looking over to the table diagonal from them.

Tristan's head shot up.

"Didn't you used have a thing for her?" Brad said looking at Tristan

"Shut up you guys" Tristan said motioning for them to listen in on there conversation

"Rory! At Manchester you wore your skirt 3 inches shorter that you do now. You could have any guy you wanted and all the girls wanted to be you. Everyone loved you; you were gorgeous, you were a great student and you were nice to everyone! Look at you now; you never dated a guy for more than 3 weeks and you've been with this Dean guy for a year. You looked amazing as a red head and now you died it back brown. You have no social life now; I mean you spend all your time studying! When was the last time you went clubbing? You don't sing anymore, and you don't even talk to any of your old friends!" said the blonde

"Look I've changed, okay! I was tired of that life. Tired of the parting, tried of the guys who only wanted me for my body and tired of pretending to be someone I wasn't." said Rory

"Oh and what are you doing now? I mean you've got everyone thinking your some innocent, holier that thou Virgin Mary and we both know you're far from that. How long do you think it'll be before someone finds out that it's all an act? I don't understand why you're doing this! You loved your life, you loved being popular, I mean people can't change over night Rory!"

"It's not an act! I don't see why you can't understand the fact that my life is different now! Yes, okay I loved my life in Boston; I had finally found the guy of my dreams, except all the forces in the universe came together to screw us over. But I moved on and I love my life here too."

"God it always comes back to him doesn't it!" said the blonde annoyed

"My decision had nothing to do with him! I just needed a change!"

"Prove it! Come with me tonight, to this club, its just outside of Hartford, it's called the Palace. Everyone is going. If you go tonight and tell me, when it's all over, that you didn't enjoy being your old self than, fine I'll let it go. But the fact remains that you won't be able to and even if you do its not like you've lost anything, its one night of letting loose, come on"

"Fine, you promise to let it go if I come?" said Rory

"Yes"

"Done"

They got up and began to leave.

Tristan sat there shocked.

"Dude we have to check out that club!"
