Takes place during 'the Catwalk'
Let Sleeping Vulcans Lie
By: Mezoti
Jonathan Archer learned an important lesson that day. It happened the morning after the crews'
first night in the catwalk. He had awakened at 0745 in preparation for his 0800 shift on the
temporary bridge. Much to his amazement, Sub-Commander T'Pol had not already awakened.
Due to the fact that she went on shift at the same time he did, he thought it only reasonable to
try and awaken her. So he started by calling "Sub-Commander" at a steadily increasing
volume. She gave absolutely no indication that she heard him. He decided to take a different
approach. Instead of calling, he tried to awaken her by gently tapping her on the shoulder. She
just shrugged her shoulder and showed absolutely no sign of awakening. It was now 0755 and
Archer realized that he had to do something quickly. So he started shaking her. In the next
instant he learned this was a mistake. With an almost knee-jerk reaction T'Pol's right leg rushed
out, kicked Archer in the groin, side swiped him with the aforementioned leg, then rolled over
without her sleep being interrupted. Needless to say, the Sub-Commander got to sleep-in and from
then on Captain Jonathan Archer knew to let sleeping Vulcans lie.
