A WARRIOR NEVER CRIES
I am called away to War,
torn from my family.
I do not look back;
I must be strong,
for a warrior never cries.
I hear the screams of the dying,
the blood makes me sick.
Another friend falls beside me,
but there is no time to mourn,
for a warrior never cries.
Smoke rises from my home,
my family lies dead at my feet.
I close my eyes
and turn away,
for a warrior never cries.
My helm clatters to the ground;
I fall to my kness beside them.
My wife and two young sons,
and weep,
as a father and a husband.
I am called away to War,
torn from my family.
I do not look back;
I must be strong,
for a warrior never cries.
I hear the screams of the dying,
the blood makes me sick.
Another friend falls beside me,
but there is no time to mourn,
for a warrior never cries.
Smoke rises from my home,
my family lies dead at my feet.
I close my eyes
and turn away,
for a warrior never cries.
My helm clatters to the ground;
I fall to my kness beside them.
My wife and two young sons,
and weep,
as a father and a husband.
