A/N Again this is not abandoned just slow to update. Hope you enjoy.

The next few days were spent in relative peace. Naruto and Shikamaru accosted him back with open arms. They did not seem to fear him despite what they had witnessed. Shioon suspected part of that was because of how Naruto was regularly treated within the village.
Whenever they weren't on guard duty the two genin trained extensively with each other. The encounter had hoped their eyes to just how far they had left to go. Shioon and Naruto worked nearly tirelessly on their swordsmanship.
Whenever he could though Hayate would pull them into taking time for themselves. His explanation being that if they overworked themselves then they would be useless later. Reluctantly the two eccentric youths agreed and took regular breaks.
Parts of Shioon's breaks did include using the Outer Body Training Method. While Naruto's was spent arguing with the bridge builder's grandson. Shioon not knowing the story behind it kept out of the arguments. It was none of his business after all.
Shikamaru on the outside hadn't changed at all in the days. He still spent a lot of his time staring at the sky or playing Shogi. Talking with Hayate revealed that was not the case. Shikamaru was learning new strategies every day. On top of that he was trying to use his ninjutsu without appearing to be using them. It was a difficult skill to learn but he was coming a long way. All in all the group was truly coming into their own.
The bridge was nearly finished almost two weeks later. Shioon sat on the bridge watching the workers with keen green eyes. Despite things having been quiet something instinctive within him had him on edge. It was why he followed Hayate out here despite not being on duty today. His mentor had given him an odd look but said nothing.
On the outside of his leg he tapped the melody to a lullaby he once heard Chun hum once. It had only been that one time. He had taken ill with a Murim illness. Fever had set in quickly his body unable to fight it properly. His ki would refuse to circulate through his body and would simply pool in his center. Without the the Ki Transfer Technique being used every ten minutes for more than two days he would have died.
Shioon's memories of those days and the following week were muddled. The only real thing he remembered was the humming of the lullaby. He wasn't even sure it was an actual memory.
"That's pretty," commented Hayate suddenly, "Where is it from?"
"Home," he whispered in a tone that said he wouldn't go further into it.
Hayate made a knowing sound but didn't press the issue. Silence reigned between them for a few moments.
This time it was Shioon who broke it, "Why do you act like nothing has happened now?"
"What?"
Shioon turned his full attention to Hayate emotions that he didn't understand threatening to overwhelm him, "You saw me lose control. We don't know what is inside of me or it's capabilities. I can understand why you don't treat Naruto different. He has a seal protecting him and everyone else. I don't have that."
Here he paused. Swallowing back the emotions trying to put them back in the bottle. It wasn't working.
Around them the air grew oppressive and thick. This was not with his ki or chakra like it had been before. This time it was his magic and it was causing the air to now crackle as if with static. Hayate to his credit did not look the least bit nervous.
What was with this man? It was nothing phased him. Not even things that shouldn't happen in this world.
Calmly Hayate said, "It's because you're no different than Naruto. There is less known about what you hold that is true. But I will not treat you any different because you are no different. You're just a kid who needs guidance same as him. As long as you will allow me to and even when you don't I will do my best to guide you down the right path."
Shioon wanted to tell the man off. He was being too easy going about this. That Shioon wouldn't be around for long. But he couldn't. Telling him anything close to the truth would bring about more questions than he could possibly even answer.
Suddenly Hayate stood from his position. Just like days before Shioon flinched from him. Damn it he had to stop doing that. They would think Ha Ill was mistreating him. It wasn't like that. Really it wasn't.
Like before the brown haired man paused pain painting his face for a moment. Thats when Shioon realized his magic was reacting by more than permeating the air. It was going after his teacher and that could not be allowed.
Directing his attention inwards he grabbed at his magic. There inside he could feel something else. Something that had always been there but just out of his perceptions. It had come closer now and unconsciously he shivered. Inside his mind a low rumble sounded as if a large beast lay back there.
With a jolt he pulled his magic back into himself and retreated from the thing. So many questions were there in his mind and no one to ask. The only people he could have asked were in an entirely different world.
A kind hand gently touched the top of his head and Shioon lifted his eyes to meet Hayate's. It was just like when he woke up. Pure concern was in the man's eyes. Why? Why did he care? Why was he reacting this way?
Hayate opened his mouth to say or ask something but what that was they'd never know. Chakra dense fog suddenly rolled in and both jounin and genin touched their swords. This was like it was two weeks before. Something that should have been impossible. They had said Zabuza was dead.
The malicious laughter in the mist said otherwise for this world did not have ghosts.
