I have
never read the book and just watched the movie. Totally fell in love with the
death scene of boromir. and
whatever the book may have said (because i have yet
to read it)...there was something between Boromir and
Aragorn that i will not ignore(in that movie). i want aragorn
paired up with legolas but because of that death
scene aragorn and boromir
as a pair shall have a place in my mind and heart.
This was written before the Two Towers.
A Love that Existed

Why couldn't he? He held it together when Gandalf left them and now, he fought
this turmoil concerning another man's passing.
His heart tore to pieces, the dying man's hand clasped in his. Such a loss he had never felt. A pain he could not decipher. This man before was weak against the ring, weak against desires and weak against responsibilities as heir, yet strong. A strength he couldn't understand. Loyalty, perhaps? Friendship? No…his strength to admit his own weaknesses.
"My king..." were the last words uttered as Boromir finally gave his last breath, finishing his oath.
Aragorn's
fingers caressed the face in sadness and regret that his friend had to die.
They only had one night to act as friends, the rest of their times together
there was just doubt. Doubt that the other would betray the Fellowship, and doubt
that the other would use his strength to acquire the ring. Other than doubt,
there was also disappointment. Disappointment, that this man chose exile over
responsibility. Chose solace and self instead, and did not take the chance to
make a difference in his rule. Was he a friend or just a companion? When was
the line crossed? Was there such a line in the first place?
He bent his head, the agony in his heart getting worse for he knew this was
real. Not a nightmare he could wake up to any moment. The quick footsteps of
his other companions reached his ears and he silently pleaded that they not go
any nearer. Let him have this last peace with a man he never knew could hurt
him without a sword.
In homage, he lowered his head for a light kiss on the head of a loyal knight.
