DRAINER Part one
Archer had finally finished negotiations with the nolk when his communicator bleeped. As he flipped open the communicator T'pol's voice beamed out.
T'pol "Sir we are getting reports of an unknown anomaly of the port bow"
Archer "I'm on my way to the bridge"
T'pol "Aye sir"
Archer left the shuttle bay and had to wait for decontamination. He had always hated that thing it always took so long and he didn't have time to wait. Soon Phlox granted him the all clear. Archer then left the decontamination room and ran to the nearest turbolift, which would take him to the bridge. As he arrived he walked straight up to his chair.
Archer "What's going on"
T'pol "Unknown Sir"
Trip Tucker "Sir that anomaly is draining the power from the engines"
Archer "And I thought the negotiations were bad enough"
Suddenly the ship shook violently and the captain flew onto the floor. As he did some consoles at the back of the bridge exploded into a flash of sparks. The captain had gotten back up after nursing a bad cut on his head. As the anomaly grew bigger it latched onto the ship like a fly to a light bulb. The whole ship was in grave danger and would never survive if they couldn't get that thing off. Most of the science team stated work with the management of T'pol trying to find a way of removing the impostor that lay on the side of the ship. Although the crew was very nervous they all did there job immaculately and with no faults. Until all of the power systems started to fail. Archer got up from his command chair and opened a channel to the engineering section where Trip was working hard, rushing around.
Archer "What's going on with the power"
Trip "I told you this would happen sir, Its going to get very cold very soon"
Archer "DAMN!!! Ok I didn't want this to come but were going to have to use any means necessary now to remove the anomaly, which I'm going to name "Drainer"
T'pol "In Vulcan history I recall no ships ever encountering this Drainer.
Archer "I'm glad you're being honest.
Reed "Sir if I can reroute power from some of the decks I can use the phase cannons and shoot it off the hull.
Archer " Get on it Hoshi evacuate the non essential decks tell them to bring all the blankets and to keep warm.
Hoshi "I'm on it"
Hoshi had completed the evacuation and all the off-duty crewmembers huddled up in their quarters. The whole ship filled with icy air and the crew were shivering. And with the remaining power just about to go off line reed was about ready to fire. The bridge crew were wrapped up in blankets and could hardly press the controls because their fingers were numb.
Reed "I'm.....re...ady....Sir."
Archer "Ok.... On my mark.....FIRE!!!!!"
The phase cannons charged and then a burst of yellow light came firing from it.
