"This is Shanna Cho reporting live from the Madripoor Island, off the south coast of Asia, where minutes before a giant tower stood stretching to the sky, impairing this small site for a foreign invasion.
As you can now see the island is not much more than wreckage and debris. Thankfully the citizens were underground in the subway tunnels when the tower collapsed, due to warnings from their crown prince Viper. And as was reported earlier the elite group known as the X-Men were the superhero effort behind this magnificent act of destroying the alien porthole.
These amazing warriors with the names of Slip Stream, Lifeguard, Sage, Bishop, and Thunder Bird along with their team leader Storm. They can be seen behind me searching the rubble for two of their fallen comrades, who, as it would seem, have perished during the fight. One of the two, known as Rogue, was televised earlier flying through the sky tearing through the invader ships like a bullet with her astonishing strength. Suddenly the grounds shook throwing the reported off her feet, as nearby junk shot into the air. From the heap floated a lone figure carrying a lifeless form in its arms. Shanna scrambled to her feet and over to the X-Men who had encircled their friend. In the center of that circle lay Rouge holding Gambit's still body in her arms as tears streamed down her pale face.
His body lay cut and bruised all over but most noticeable was the single hole in his stomach, it was clear he had not died from the tower collapsing for Betsy had the same mark on her when she had died.
Storm laid a dark hand on Rogue's shoulder in a sign of comfort for her friend. Bishop finally managed to tear Rogue's arms way from around Remy's body. With a cry of anguish Rogue took to the sky as all her power and might flashed in the sky in the air around her. Her green eyes flared to Remy's blood red, she spoke for the first time since she had come back with him. This one word that left her lips was not a threat but a sworn vow for her dead lover "VARGAS"
