Might as well clear up a few points. This song -could- be from Daggers POV, actually, I'd say it is (didn't have anything in mind when I wrote it). She's (I'll refer it as Dagger) thinking about Zidane? The first few opening lines -'caught up in my own war; thinking my death is at the door'- means she's battling with her emotions (and people CAN die of grief, you know). Another obvious point, a little ways down, it says -For such things of beauty; No longer have meaning to me-, when you lose something/someone dear, the world seems bleak.
