The lone, solaced figure surrounded by darkness slowly rose. Across the horizon, her small figure was no bigger than a small child's. She had her eyes closed as if expecting something horrible .. but, her eyes never really opened to see the true meanings of everything.

"What?!" Usagi asked, her eyes popping out of her face.
"You heard me. We can't do it, are you deaf?!" Rei asked, waving a finger in front of Usagi's face.
"I meant the 'What?! I can't believe it what!' Not the 'I don't understand what you're saying, what'." Usagi said matter-of-factly.
I glanced at Chibi Usa. Would she notice if I disappeared? No, probably not. She was too intent on the conversation ...
I slipped away from the arising argument, and ran from the ice cream parlor. The last thing I needed now was arguing .. I quietly scampered to a tree, then to another, hiding this way. I didn't want anybody following me, especially when I was going to the unknown.
As I entered a clearing, I saw Hotaru, her small figure on the rock, waiting quietly. I squeaked. She turned.
"Ah, Diana, I was wondering when you'd get here."
"Well, I'm here now, anyway.I don't think anyone followed me .. or I hope nobody did .. "
"Come along, we're going that-a-way" Hotaru flashed her fingers towards a path. Nodding, I followed her.
"What's this about, anyway? You know The Portal to time before time, really doesn't exsist." I said slowly. No reply. I kept walking .. for a while ... until we entered a clearing ..
And I saw the impossible ...
A hole in the ground, glowing with life. Glowing with the future, glowing with blue ..
"The Portal?!" I squeaked, expecting her to say no.
She didn't.
She nodded.
"I went in. I went to our new kingdom ..." Hotaru started.
And when she didn't go on .. I knew something was wrong.
"And? What happened?" My eyes glistened with excitement "How'd we win? Huh?"
"W-We ... " She stopped short.
"We?" I asked impatiently. Then ...
"You're not saying we didn't win, are you?" I asked incredously.
There was no reply from Hotaru ...
And in seconds after she didn't reply, she was pulled into The Portal, and before I knew what was happening, the last of Hotaru's hand dragged me in the deep, never-ending tunnel of darkness.
And then I saw nothing at all.
Nothing at all .. Just darkness.
And I prayed ..
that I would be alright.
But I didn't know I was never alright.
I didn't know I never even existed ..

"She couldn't have just gotten up and walked outta here ... under our watchfull eye." Minako said with a smirk.
"Right." Usagi said, taking it seriously.
Rei gave Usagi a long, hard look. "What kind of a baka are you?" Rei asked, her red eyes flashing "Minako was being
sarcastic, now there's a new word to learn! And besides, I think Diana went with Hotaru, probably. Did you notice they both
aren't here?"
And, they weren't.
And so, in my view, the search for me, the one who never lived, began.
