With the Gentle Breeze

Chapter 1-Time to Leave

Sakura Kinomoto spread her arms out as she felt the gentle wind brush against her face. Running freely like this always made her feel better. She stopped as she looked before her. Miles of nothing except lush, green grass meeting with the bright blue sky. Colors formed as the sun set in the west wind, casting colors over the field, turning the sky into a golden color. This was said to be Sakura's mother's favorite place in the world. Sakura liked this break after capturing all the Clow Cards, earning her the title Master of the Clow. Plus, it reminded her of her mother.

"Sakura! Sakura!" The small, yet commanding voice of Kero, disrupted the peaceful moment. Kero was guardian of the Clow cards. His true form is a lion, Cerberus.

"Sakura, a strange rain is falling in town. We must go back to town."

Reluctantly, Sakura went to their little cabin to get her things. There wasn't much: her wand, her Clow cards, and.

A picture of her family- her father, Fujitaka, her brother, Touya, and

Her late mother, Nadeshiko.

"I miss you, Mom. You would be so proud of me now," Sakura whispered. A gentle breeze blew through the room, as and Sakura heard her mother's spirit, her mother's soothing, and fragile voice calling out to her. Slowly, but clearly, Nadeshiko's shape started to form. Her eyes glittered in the sunlight, and her long, silky hair flowed behind her.

"Oh, Kero!" Sakura said, her voice shaking a little. The image of her mother faded away with the wind and turned back into its original Clow card form. The Illusion card, creating whatever image a person wants most. Kero popped up from behind the card.

"Come on Sakura! Cheer up. At least you can still see her," the little, yellow creature said as cheerfully as he could.

"Look around you Sakura. Isn't your mother still with you? You can't see her, but you have enough magic to feel her presence." Kero said gently.

"Yeah I guess." Sakura replied softly. The wind seemed to carry away her words, making them barely audible.

"Now that's more like it!"

"Yeah, sure. Lets get going Kero."

Slowly and silently, Sakura and Kero turned around and headed home. Behind them, Nadeshiko's spirit smiled to herself. Her little cherry blossom was growing up to be more than she could ever be. Nadeshiko floated up lightly into the sky, sending a gust of wind to bid Sakura good-bye.

So it's kinda short. It's my first fanfic and I'm not a very good writer. I'll try to improve the next chapters of the story. Please-R&R! ^_^
