A/N: I don't own anything. The lyrics to the song, Angel in My Heart, are
by Jump5 and Disney owns Lizzie and Gordo. I hope you enjoy. Please read
and review. This is my first Lizzie fic so please be nice.
Lizzie McGuire walked up the sidewalk to the Gordon's house. She had been meaning to talk to Gordo at school, but he hadn't been there that day. She didn't understand what had happened, but after the day they took their class picture she had had this strange feeling. This strange feeling hadn't been there until she read what Gordo had put in her yearbook.
"I heard a whisper that touched deep inside my soul
Like some familiar melody
A hidden chapter from a story left untold
I gotta feeling, I could believe in"
She knocked on the door and was answered seconds later by her best friend. Gordo smiled when he saw Lizzie standing there. "Hey Lizzie," he said stepping away from the door to allow her to come in.
"Hey," she said returning the smile and walking into the house. "Why weren't you in school today?"
"Oh, I wasn't feeling very good this morning, but I feel better now," he replied.
"Good to know," Lizzie said as she sat down on the couch in the living room.
"There is an angel in my heart
Feels like I'm guided by a candle in the dark
It's taken all this time
To finally find out what I could never see
You were there for me
Now there is no doubt that there will always be
An angel in my heart"
They talked for a little while, about school and other things. After a little bit Lizzie completely forgot the whole reason she had gone there. The nice part about having Gordo as your best friend was that he was always ready to talk, he had the answers to most problems, but sometimes the only way he could help was by trying to comfort and just being there for her. She thought back over the years and how many times he had helped her. And for all those years she had been pushing her true feelings to the back of her mind.
"You were the friend, you were the one I could confide in
You gave me strength that I could never find
Deep emotions that I've always been denying
I believe in, it's so close now, it's you that
I'm feeling
There is an angel in my heart
Feels like I'm guided by a candle in the dark
It's taken all this time
To finally find out what I could never see
You were there for me
Now there is no doubt that there will always be
An angel in my heart"
Lizzie left a few hours later not even getting to tell Gordo what she had gone there to tell him in the first place. As she left Gordo had but one thought on his mind, 'You are my angel, Lizzie McGuire.'
"Finally found what I've been searching for
(All my life)
It was right before my eyes
Oh, you are my angel
I know you'll always be there
You are my one and only angel
To finally find out what I could never see
(You were there for me)
Now there is no doubt that there will always be
An angel in my heart"
When Lizzie reached home and finally remembered that she hadn't even told him what she had wanted to she decided to call him. She told him to meet her in the park next to the big oak tree. A few minutes later she arrived there herself to find Gordo already waiting there.
"You said you wanted to talk to me about something important?" Gordo asked when he saw her.
"Gordo," she began, "I think I have feelings for you, I." she trailed off and didn't dare to look him in the eye.
