The little Shin-Ra truck rattled and bumped along the dusty cracked
wasteland. The sun beat down furiously on the weather beaten road Inside
the truck there were 3 very bored soldiers who had been in there for almost
16 hours and were tired and sore. Little did these 3 know at the time but
they would change the course of history..

As Sephiroth watched the tiny dot that was their last stop off point disappear into the distance he was filled by a sense of dread it felt as if he suddenly had a huge boulder placed in his stomach. The fact that he had an uncanny ability to judge impending danger didn't help to make him feel any better only more and more anxious. What had Hojo meant when he had suggested sending someone else to deal with the reactor. What did he have to hide from the general of the Shinra army? He must have learnt by this time that none of his hideous creations shocked the silver haired man any more let alone put him off doing a mission. Nonetheless Sephiroth had a bad feeling about this mission. A very bad feeling.

Cloud regretted ever leaving Nibelheim after his dreams of being a SOLDIER first class had been torn apart by the examiners he wished that he could return to a time before all of this. Now he couldn't even go home because the shame he would bring back with him would be too much. He could never admit his weakness to THEM and hear their mocking voices and scornful laughter. Even Tifa the beauty he had admired from afar would laugh with them. That abject humiliation he couldn't stand but here he was on a truck back to Nibelheim in the same truck as his hero Sephiroth. He almost counted on the fact that he would humiliate himself in front of Sephiroth too The thought of all these things made his motion sickness even worse. He just buried his head in his hands and wished it would all go away.

Zack was pacing in the van. He could tell there was something far wrong with sephiroth as he kept going very deep into thought and had been speaking of this bad feeling since the last stop. Other people who didn't know Sephiroth well would say that was no reason to worry but Zack knew better he had been there when Sephiroths "bad feeling" had saved him and his squadron by somehow fore warning them about an ambush. Also when Sephiroth went off into his dream world before as a trainee he had became very aggressive and got into a fight with his superior. The expected outcome would be a lose for Sephiroth but he shockingly sent his superior into hospital along with 5 others who tried to break it up. There was underlying power in Sephiroth that had not been fully tapped or. even more worryingly ..tamed. Looking over at the boy Cloud brought back memories back. He was the one who previously was rejected from the SOLDIER program because he was unsuited mentally for the gruelling initiation. He appeared very upset about something although Zack couldn't understand why. After all he was going home. Wasn't he?

When the little truck stopped by the gates of Nibelheim 3 men got out. But at the end of the mission none returned. All were presumed dead but this presumption was dispelled when 7 years later they met yet again but were on very different sides.
