The Key of the Twilight
DISCLAIMER: I do not own .hack//sign or any of the characters. They belong to the uh. . . VERY cool people who do own them ^.^
The ocean. That's all one could see. Yet back then, you didn't really want to see anything beyond that which existed. I should of anyway. But I always wondered what it was the ocean was trying to hide from all those around it. Was it a danger? A hope for Humanity? Or was it nothing, nothing what so ever?
Many people said that it was the "Key of the Twilight." The one thing that could override the very foundation of the world. No one ever believed that myth. It had no valuable evidence. No foundation to bring it forward. But there were those that did believe this rumor. Many people searched for this key. None found it. And not a single person who chased after this legacy came back to tell the tale.
One of those people that ran after this false truth, was I. Tsukasa. I decided to go after it. To find that which people couldn't see. Yet what I did find there, just before the ocean was something I can't explain. I don't even remember how I got to this place. Or even why I set foot in this cavern. All I remember is opening a chest, and being engulfed in a bright light. Yet, the very last thing I remember, when the light began to die down, I was looking down at the ground. And there, sitting just beside me, was a cat of some sort, staring at me happily. That's when everything went black.
"Oh man. . . Why did I have to come here? There's too many monsters lurking around." Implied a girl standing on a rock inside of a cavern. She sighs hoping off, her red armor glinting as the only light from outside strikes her from behind.
"Well, since I'm here, might as well get the stupid treasure."
That was the very first thing I heard when I slowly began to rise to my hands and knees. I couldn't stop my body from shaking. And when I began opening my eyes, it was like, I was being born again. I felt so weak, so vulnerable. Yet at the same time, I felt I had been endowed with something. Something, unfamiliar.
But I simple shrugged that thought away as I stood up, taking my staff in hand. What came next was a real surprise. I heard a young girl's voice, a voice that was calling out to me. I only thought it was my imagination playing tricks on me. Yet, someone placed their hand upon my shoulder, shaking me.
"Hey, I asked if you're alright." She said with concern in her voice. I turned around, trying to avoid any eye contact.
"Well?"
"I'm fine." I said simply, leaning my staff forward towards her, giving her the impression that I didn't really want to talk to her. Yet she still persisted.
Looking at my staff closely she began again.
"I hardly ever see a wave master working alone. You must be powerful! Are you?" I didn't know what to say at the time. I simply brought out my sprite ocarina and left the dungeon.
"What a jerk!"
TO BE CONTINUED. . .
Author's Notes: I know, I know -.- It's really short. And I did notice I sort of copied the beginning of Episode 1. I didn't know what else to put, but chapter 1 will be as original as I can make it! Just tell me if I should really continue. And please, be nice with the flames .
