Enchantment
DISCLAIMER: I don't own the characters in Harry Potter, and I'm just a bored high school student. However, I do own the character Rachel Sanders.

Rachel arrived at Platform 9 ¾ with a shy smile. After all, this was her first time traveling to Hogwarts, despite being 15. She had lived in America all of her life, and had been attending Merlin's Academy for the past 4 years. However, her father, who worked for the Ministry of Magic in America, had been transferred to Britain as an ambassador. So now, here she was, ready to start again in a new place.
She boarded the train and said good bye to her mother, who had seen her off, (her father was once again busy at the office). Now she was faced with the always difficult task of finding a compartment to sit in.
"Hello, do you mind if I sit here?" Rachel asked. She had walked into a compartment where three boys were already sitting, two of them identical and with flaming red hair and the third, a rather handsome teen with fluffy brown hair.
"O, hello. Sure, go right ahead," replied the brown-haired boy with a slight Scottish accent, "I'm Oliver Wood, and this is Fred and Gorge Weasley."
"Now, now Wood, I believe we can introduce ourselves," Fred stated, almost immediately taken with the beauty of the new student.
"I'm Rachel Sanders, nice to meet you," Rachel replied, as she sat down and the boys helped her place her luggage in the overhead storage. "I just transferred here from America, as if my accent isn't obvious enough," she said with a smile. "My father transferred to Britain, he works for the Ministry of Magic, and I don't really know anyone yet."
"Well Rachel," said George, just as smitten with her as his brother, "We'll make sure you feel right at home."
At that moment, Fred and George were called away by Lee Jordan on very important business, ("James Jenkins has a two headed salamander!!!"), leaving Rachel and Oliver alone in the compartment.
"So, did you play quidditch in America?" Oliver asked Rachel.
"Yes, although I'm not that good. I haven't been on a broom in ages."
"Oh, well…umm, if you like, I could show you around the quidditch pitch? Maybe tomorrow, after dinner?"
"Sounds great."
Wood spent the rest of the train trip telling Rachel all about Hogwarts, the four houses, and, (since it was Oliver Wood, after all), quidditch and Gryffindor's pursuit of the House Cup.
Occasionally, they were interrupted by visits from the rest of the Gryffindor quidditch team, and other students who had heard of and wanted to meet the new American transfer.
By the time the train arrived in Hogsmeade station, both Oliver and Rachel were laughing and having a great time. Though they hadn't mentioned it, both realized that a strong friendship was beginning.
