As crimes of vengeance go, it is an odd one. There are no pleas for mercy, no furious accusations. No sound is made except for the father's harsh breathing as he stares at the face of his soon-to-be killer. Stares at the face of his son.
If either had expected a different scene – indeed, if the father had expected such a scene at all – neither gives any sign. Still as statues, staring into the other's too-similar face, neither breaks the silence until, with a smile and an almost-casual "Avada Kedavra," the boy snuffs out his father's life.
