My Mask
I have a mask, to hide my face, When they're around its securely in place,
I hide behind my mask, it smiles so bright, It conceals the darkness with its light,
My mask is like porcelain, so it may break, It better not crumble for everyone's sake,
They cannot see this mask I wear, And they cannot see my heart slowly tear,
My mask shows laughing, it's just a lie, Inside the pain makes me cry,
I remove the mask, no-ones around, Tears fall down my cheeks with no sound,
The mask smiles, I see what it does see, But because of it no one knows the true me,
Once the wars ended I shall remove this mask, And in life, with friends, no lies, I shall fully bask.
