I was sitting on the couch, dreaming a wide-awake dream,

Answered the phone, and let out a scream.

Shared a glance with Jet and flew,

To the last place I'd ever see you.

You laid there limply,

And I picked you up and said simply,

Later Cowboy,

See you somewhere, somehow, again,

Someplace above the stars,

Somewhere, somehow, I'll see you again.

Looked at Jet, the old Black Dog was crying, shoulders shaking,

I looked back down at you and felt my heart breaking.

I lifted my head up and felt the rain splashing on my face,

Knew that the most important member of my race,

Was dead.

The skies themselves wept for you,

And for your enemy who had buckled under the pressure,

Of walking in your shoes.

So once again I said,

Later Cowboy,

See you somewhere, somehow, again,

Someplace above the stars,

Somewhere, somehow, I'll see you again.
