"Redemption"
by SparkingDiamond

Desolate, bleak, abandoned

Hopeless, lost, forsaken

Days spinning, endless, time following no mortal calendar

Day and night melded together

Signaling the passing of an outside world

While the world of the condemned remain forever the same

Forsaken here, in the dark, shoved aside by society's rules, the losers of the game

Kept here, with freedom close in sight

Kept here always, while day turns into night

Locked here always behind barred walls

Struggling for redemption, making amends for all my falls.

Redemption seems far away, for someone lost like me

Something only dreamed about in every fantasy

The dark is often stronger than the light

Making it hard to fight the good fight

Alone in my struggles, forsaken by all

Lost and abandoned, I sit alone

Praying for redemption to a God unknown

Am I too lost to be saved?

Too lost to be found again?

Am I doomed forever, here in the dark

Striving to be redeemed, no matter what the cost

The hours fading by, days turn into months

I fear redemption will not come

I fear faith is lost
