Oyamada Manta, age 13, was half on his way to the cram school when he had a sudden change of heart. He, at last, made a decision to go to somewhere else. He didn't know where, maybe just wandering around the town.
= Tuesday's child is full of woe =
Dropped by the bookstore, he read a magazine. But what he found was his father's face on all of the pages; explaining about his company and business; maddening him. Flew off the handle; he tore the magazine into pieces. Indubitably, the store clerk yelled at him and told him to pay for it.
= Wednesday's child has far to go =
His stomach growled. Near him, there's a fast food restaurant. He checked his wallet and noticed that he had no money left. Cursing his bad luck, he left the restaurant behind.
= Thursday's child is loving and giving =
He stood next to the traffic light, waiting for the 'walk' sign to on. He looked at both sides. No car, he thought, I guess it's safe to cross now. Besides, dad's gonna kill me if I come home late. With that consideration, he stepped forward.
= Friday's child works hard for a living =
Out of the blue, a car speedily appeared. The time froze for him. Like a slow motion, he saw the car ran towards him, closer and closer. And then, darkness came.
= But the child that is born on Saturday-morn =
As he felt someone's hand patted his cheek, he was revived. "You alright?" the boy talked to him. Manta rubbed his eyes and confronted a friendly countenance with a smile in front of his, bringing him to life.
= Is the luckiest child that ever was born =
The name of that friendly face is Asakura Yoh, yet known as Manta's best friend, who makes Manta's days now and then.
