The Origin of Sally

"I wish we had a little girl." whined Mrs. Finkelstein.

"My dear, we can't have children now, we're much too old." Replied her loving husband Mr. Finkelstein.

Mr. Finkelstein was not a doctor, but thought of himself as one. His wife would often complain that he spent too much time in his makeshift 'laboratory' up in the attic. He was fascinated with anatomy and would experiment with little animals. He started to call himself Doctor and soon it caught on with the rest of the neighborhood. After all, how could you have Halloween Town without a mad scientist?

"Someday my dear" he would often say while flipping through his favorite book, Frankenstein. "I will make you a little girl."

And his wife would just laugh.
