Chapter 12: Eminem and AIM
It was around 9:30 when Harry realized that only he Courtney were in the Common Room. OF course, Courtney hadn't noticed because she was listening to music on her headphones. Every once in awhile, she started singing; the particular chorus at the moment was, "Now this looks like a job for me, so ev'rybody just follow me 'cuz we need a lil controversy 'cuz it feels so empty without me!'
'Courtney?' Harry said loud enough for her to hear.
She paused her CD and said, "Yeah?'
'What are you listening to?'
'Eminem.'
'Why?'
'"'Cuz it feels so empty without me!" No, not really, because Emma won't let me listen to him to him when she's around,' Courtney said with a sigh.
'I need some music. Take the headphones out so I can listen to it, too.' said Harry. Courtney took the headphones out and the great music of Eminem filled the room. Harry sighed.
'There's nothing like the sound of Eminem at night,' Courtney murmured. She sang the whole rap of 'Without Me' without messing up. 'Oh, I love that song.'
'Emma would kill me if she knew I was listening to him, ' Harry said worriedly.
'You can borrow the CD sometime, but until then, let's listen to Nelly. He's cool, too.' Courtney handed Harry "The Eminem Show" and put "Nellyville" in the CD player.
'You know what was really weird today in DADA?' Harry said over the music.
'What, that Cedric can sing?'
'Haha. That, and that Malfoy knew so much about Mordred.'
'Yeah, that was weird.' Courtney pulled out her magi-top (Wizard computer that runs on magic) and signed onto AIM. 'I can ask him.'
'How? He's in the Slytherin Common Room,' Harry said doubtfully.
'Last week, I heard Veronica tell Viviana his screen name. So I added to my buddy list so I could diss him when I had nothing better to do. It's SlytherinBoi24. And, he's on right now, so I can ask him.' Harry leaned over Courtney's shoulder to read the conversation.

'Um, Courtney?' Harry whispered, 'Do you know what this means, since Malfoy is related to Mordred?'
'What, does it mean, Mister Potter?' Courtney said sarcastically.
'It means you're related to Malfoy.'
'WHAT?!?!?!'
'Mordred was Morgan's nephew, right? So you and Malfoy would be..well, I dunno what you would be, but either way, you're still related.'
Courtney scowled. 'Ugh, please don't use the words "you and Malfoy" in the same sentence ever again.' Before Harry could say that she just did use those words in the same sentence, Emma appeared at the bottom of the stairs. Harry quickly changed the music to Vanessa Carlton (Emma's favorite singer).
'Who was that you were just listening to?' Emma asked suspiciously.
'Erm...nobody?' Courtney said hopefully.
'Whatever. Courtney, you woke me up with your yelling. What were you yelling about anyway?' Emma inquired obliviously. When they told her, she had almost the same reaction as Courtney. This time, she was the one who fainted.
'Hehehehehe, now I have something against her! Mwahahahahah!' Courtney squealed.
Harry rolled his eyes and said, 'Courtney, shut up.'
