For Always.Forever

Why? Why him? Why, why, WHY! Why did you have to take him?

Harry lay awake in bed that night. It had been a year since he graduated. Because of his condition, he and Ron lived in a flat near The Burrow. They hardly stayed there though as the war with Voldemort had begun in the latter of their 7th year. Ron hadn't been just another casualty in the war, he jumped in front of Harry when Voldemort had uttered the curse only he, Harry, had survived. Ron's body collapsed on Harry. No, Harry thought, his mind couldn't register it in his mind that Ron was gone. He would never hear him again. He heard Ginny bellow out the words that was the source of Harry's anguish.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" That was it. Everything stopped at that moment, like he was in a time warp. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. He was alone, blind, half-paralysed.

"Harry, get up. Harry!" Harry's eyes snapped open, gut reaction. "Hermione?" He felt her hand wrap around his. Her voice filled his head, "I'm so sorry, Harry. It's just with Ron gone I don't know what to do anymore." She trailed off. Hermione had moved in to help with Harry. Harry squeezed her hand, tears filled his eyes, he missed Ron so much he couldn't bear it any longer. "Hermione, take me to the cemetery Ron was buried in." He felt her stare at him. "Please, Hermione, I need to be with him, even in spirit." He pleaded with her.

"Whatever you say, Harry." She reluctantly apparated them into the mausoleum. Harry sat on Ron's tomb. " 'Mione, could you leave me here? Just for a few hours." Harry smiled gratefully as he heard her pop out. He caressed the head of the tomb, where Ron's name was engraved. "you don't know how much I miss you. I needed you. I still do." Something flashed beside the crypt. Harry didn't see it but he felt it, he also felt a pair of hands hold his own. "Harry, as much as I want to stay I can't." He heard a familiar voice, though the voice was all too familiar. "Ron?" He heard a chuckle, there was no mistaking it, that giggle was made by Ron Weasley. "Yup, the one and only." Harry flung his arms around what he supposed was Ron's neck. It was Ron alright. "Ron, what are you doing here?" Ron patted Harry on the head, "I thought I heard someone say they needed me. But I guess I was wrong."

"NO! Don't leave!" Harry yelled immediately. "Just kidding, Harry. I'm staying but only 'till midnight. I have something to give you."

"And what would that be?" Harry asked, remembering the old times. "This," said Ron softly. He felt Ron's palm rest on his eyes. "Ron, what are you doing?" Ron didn't reply.

After a few seconds, Ron took off his hand. "Open your eyes." Harry did as he was told, he was amazed at what happened, he could see. "I thought what Voldemort did was irreparable." For the first time in after 2 long years, he saw Ron's ever comforting smile. "Some things just aren't meant to be." Harry's face lit up, he hugged Ron as tightly as he could. "Don't leave me." He whispered to Ron. "I can't, I have to go." Harry's eyes welled with tears.

"Promise you'll still be with me, at least spiritually?" Harry asked.

"For always, Harry.Forever."
