But instead of home I found the pound

You didn't even notice me walk out of your shadow
With my head held up high
Because you were to busy with that cow
Whose always got your eye
And when she turned you down
For the hundredth time that week
You went to me with a frown
The one person you thought was quiet and meek
But I really didn't care anymore
For I had found someone new
He told me things to soften my core
Which you had hardened with your words of very few
When you found out
About us being together
All you did was scream and shout
And told us we were not to see each other ever
I never knew you cared so much about me

You locked me in a cage and threw away the key
That's what hardened up my core
I wouldn't let nobody in
Until he stopped me in the hall
To make me tell him what had happened
He would never pry or pick at all
He just sat and listened
And just knowing that he cared
Made me fall head over heels
With the one boy I would've never dared
And never show that even he feels
The one with the blonde hair and silver eyes
That didn't show even a hint of emotion
The one I love more then homemade apple pie
And I show utter devotion
Nothing you do can tear me away
For my love for him will always be around
And with him I will always stay
Because he saved me from that awful pound
