The eternal calm. Somehow it didn't seem right without him.
Yuna owed everything to him. If it weren't for Tidus, she would probably be long gone by now - never even sent to the farplane. And not just her, Lulu, Wakka, Rikku, and Kimahri too. They would all be dead. Even more of Spira's people would be dead as well.
Yuna shook her head and then inhaled deeply. She couldn't think about that. All it did was depress her, but she was sad anyway. She was always sad. Though no one knew, because she wouldn't let them. As always, she put on that same smile, that same front.
But she didn't know how much longer she would be able to do so. She loved him and he was gone. He was nothing but a dream. To her, to Spira...he was only a dream. And she always dreamed of him...at night, in the day even. Not a minute went by when something wouldn't remind her of him. Whether it was the way the waves crashed the color of his eyes upon the beaches or the way the strands of sunlight shined the same way his hair had or even the stubborn ways of the moon, demanding it's time to rise in the eve. She saw him in everything.
Closing her eyes, she blinked back the familiar tears. He was gone. He was never really there to begin with, but she couldn't forget him.
Footsteps could be heard from behind her, and Yuna wiped her eyes quickly, put on a smile, and spun around to greet her visitor.
It was Wakka, and somehow she seemed able to let down her guard in front of him. Or maybe, she couldn't keep it up any longer. Her form slumped and her face went from happy to sad in an instant's time. "Oh Wakka..." She took a few small steps closer to him and colapsed into a more than welcoming hug.
"It's Tidus, ya?" Wakka stated more than asked. Even though Yuna had refused to let him see it in the past, he had always known.
She nodded into his shoulder and added curtly, "Yes." She couldn't bring herself to say anymore, because she knew after a year without him that he wasn't coming back. How could he? But as she pulled away from Wakka the look in his eyes told her otherwise.
"You'll see him again." He sounded so sure of himself, "I can feel it."
