Green eyes, and grey.
Staring. It seemed to be the only thing he ever did nowadays. He stared at breakfast, he stared at lunch and he most definately stared in Potions class.
Sometimes, though very rarely, he could see him stare back. When that happened, he'd immediately avert his eyes. He'd feel caught, like he was doing something he wasn't supposed to. Of course, he wasn't.
There were unspoken rules about these sorts of things. Slytherins obsessed over other Slytherins and Gryffindors, well, Gryffindors could obsess over anyone as long as it wasn't a Slytherin.
It was good though. It meant he wouldn't get his hopes up about something that couldn't, shouldn't, be. The best thing would be for him to snap out of it entirely, but he'd tried that long enough to know it wasn't going to work.
So, every day it was back to the staring. The constant staring, and the occasional meeting of eyes across the Great Hall. Green eyes, and grey.
