Author's notes: well this is my first try in writing a fanfic, I used to write original fictions but I don't post them. Anyway this story is based on a random gryffindor's point of view on how things are in Hogwarts, and how people based you on which house you are in.

Summary: We are Gryffindors, so we must be one until the day we drew our last breath trying to save this damned world.

So on with the story...
It's not easy being a gryffindor...

Honest!!! Sure there are many advantages of being one. After all we are considered by many as the golden children, the darlings of the school and the pet of every teacher... well except Snape of course.

We are known to be brave and loyal but not because we are, but because Godric Gryffindor was. So whatever Lord Gryffindor was, people expect us to do the same. We after all carry the badge of a lion, so we should act like one.

Here at Hogwarts a person is expected to do what is expected of him to do. They don't expect him to do anything out of his talents or thoughts, nor out of his individuality or personality. No, they expect him to do what his BADGE represents for him to do.

If he, like me, wears a lion's badge then he is expected to be brave and noble. After all bravery and nobility was Gryffindor's name. However if he wears a serpent's badge then he is the exact opposite of us, for cunning and scheming was always Slytherin's game. If a bear is found on his robes then he brings no harm for Helga Hufflepuff was loyal & kind. Clever and loner, that is who he is if an eagle is perched on his insignia for Lady Ravenclaw is wildly known as the brains of the Hogwarts' four.

It has always been like that here at Hoggy Warty Hogwarts. You are nothing but a mere replica of what house you are in.

Just look at the simplest example possible, here at school our hero is a Gryffindor. Brave, noble, generous and everything good. That is what best describe Harry Potter, the boy who lived and the savior of all. Then came the villain, the bad boy, the slytherin prince himself, Draco Malfoy. Like Potter he is also famous, but not because of his bravery nor because of his nobility but because of his destiny. His destiny to follow on his evil father's footsteps, a path that has already been written even before his birth.

Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws often voice out their jealousy, for they think it is unfair that it is always us Gryffindors & Slytherins who are always in the spotlight.

How foolish of them not to be overjoyed by the fact that all they have to do is sit on the sidelines and avoid pain and sorrow of losing your love ones or even your life. Don't they know that once all the favoritism and popularity are taken from us, only one fate awaits us all that are in the center stage? Only one fate lies in our paths once this war begins and that is... death.

Once the war between the dark lord and Harry Potter begins, people will expect the Gryfindors as well as the Slytherins to take on their role. Since we are Gryffindors we are supposed to fight until the end, and since they are Slytherins they have to protect He who must not be named or die trying. And since it is what our houses represents we can do nothing but live with the expectations, we can never complain, we can never say NO, we can never put ourselves first. It is always DUTY before life; it is always our house before US.

We are Gryffindors, so we must be one until the day we drew our last breaths... trying to save our damned world.

So to those who think that we lion's are the luckiest bastards among the hogwarts' four... think again for it is never easy being a gryffindor...
