Emerald green eyes met lapis blue.
The large bedroom was dark, save for the flickering light and shadows cast from the slowly burning candles placed sporadically around.
A slender hand lifted to gently trace fingertips along his cheek. It made him shiver, and sparked a fire in his stomach, a yearning that he knew she felt as well. One finger brushed against his mouth, as he embraced her supple form to his. Lips parted in a quick breath at her touch, and his hands glided up and finally buried in the softness that was her hair.
His head tilted down, until their lips came together in a soft, gentle kiss that woke a million feelings inside of him as well as her. She deepened it, with a light flick of her tongue against his lips. And then he'd lifted her, lying her down on the queen-sized canopy bed by the window.
He wanted her.
Lips curved into a slight smile from where she lay, as lashes lifted to gaze up at him. For a moment his heart clenched at the sight of her, and the prospect of the moonlight that spilled in from the parted curtains being washed over soft curves and lavender scented skin...
She wanted him.
Her hands lifted to be placed against his bare chest, as his shirt was carelessly tossed to the floor where the rest of his clothing lay intertwined with hers. Light kisses against her throat, as her head tilted back with an audible sigh. Those kisses moving down along her body, as her hands left fire in their wake as they slid down his back.
He shifted, joining them with a gasp; his, hers, perhaps both. For a moment, he paused, to simply stare down at her as he'd wanted, memorizing every detail of her body as she lay there beneath him. The pale color from the moon making her seem to glow with some ethereal light as it illuminated all of her. And when their eyes met
again, there was burning, evident passion displayed in both.
His eyes took in the curve of her lips then and the strands of gold that had fallen to brush against faintly colored cheeks. They took in the gentle rise and fall of her chest as she breathed, fingers moving to feel the shape of her hips.
And finally, with an indrawn breath, he moved again, simultaneously capturing her lips with his.
A murmur, of what only hearing as good as his could have deciphered as being his name as she whispered it.
Light noises, muffled by his neck, where she had buried her face. But one stood out from the rest. He heard it, and the joy it gave him was surmounting the pleasure he was feeling.
"I love you."
And then they took each other to the brim, exploding in their passion.
In the aftermath, neither of them moved, until he placed a kiss on her head. Both trying to steady their breathing, and the racing pulse of their heartbeats.
He responded quietly, not wanting to shatter the serenity and absolute bliss he felt as he lay there, head resting against her stomach, her fingers threading through his hair, a tender sign of her love.
"I love you, too."
He shifted ever-so-slightly, raising his eyes to hers, and he saw the tear that was slipping down her cheek. In the moonlight it glinted.
She was his. He was hers. Forever.
