Harry walked thru a dark empty corridor. There was a sweet smell in the castle and the warm summer night was perfect. But Harry hadn't noticed he looked, empty and lost.He stumbled thru the hall, his knees occasionally buckled beneath him so he would cling for a moment to the castles stone walls. Harry was going up the winding stairs of the astronomy tower. up to the roof. He reached an empty classroom, and opened the only window in there. He put a leg over the side and then pushed up with the other. Harry grabbed the shingles of the roof and pulled him self up. Harry tried to steady himself on the roof but he couldn't stay still, he was drunk with pain.

Sirius was dead

Just like his parents

Voldamort had killed him

And Harry was next.

He knew that much

No one loved him

Well.

Accept Hermione

But Harry knew

He would only

Bring her down with him

Ron was gone too

His family had fled the country.

Harry was alone, and he was going to die

He couldn't control that

But there was one thing he could control

How he died.

He was going to jump

He wasn't going to let Voldamort get him

No

He wouldn't give him the satisfaction.

Harry stood and

As he looked over the edge

He thought of what he was leaving

The pain and suffering

The hate and death

Swaying over the edge

He heard the voices of

Every one

Hermione

Ron

Sirius.

They would all have wanted him to stay

And Dumbledore

Harry remembered

What He had said to him in first year

. "Death is only the next great adventure."

Harry sighed

And a tear ran down his cheek

He looked up and whispered

I'm sorry

Harry fell

The wind rushed past him

And his life flashed before him

Just before he hit the ground

He didn't black out

He hit

And he felt the pain

His bones crushed

And his scull shattered

He whimpered

And shut his eyes

In his last moment

He smiled

And reached out his fingers

"mum?"

The boy who lived had finally found peace

But at too great a price?
