Chapter 6: Hide and Seek
Noises were heard up stairs were the rulers of Normandy and Brittany together with their generals are planning of what to do about the incoming war.
"Brother, stop! We need to go back," Tomoyo said halting her steps and looking up at the stairs, they came from once she heard the noises. They were going down to the secret tunnel that leads to the forest, away from the summerhouse.
Worry was etched all over her face, she look back at her brother with pleading eyes who at that time was holding her hand. At this sight Yukito, look straight to his sister with a sad look in his face and responded to her plea
"Tomoyo we can't go back, we must leave this place for both your sake and our people"
"But brother they need our help!" Tomoyo said, tears welling up in her eyes, at the sight of tears in his sisters eyes Yukito hug her sister
"Sorry Tomoyo but we must go, this is what they want, we could only hope that they're going to be fine" Yukito said rubbing his sister's back as a big blow was heard up stairs. Tomoyo buried her head at her brother's neck upon hearing the noise.
Eriol having heard what was said came over the two rubbed Tomoyo's back and said
"Don't worry Tomoyo they'll be fine, I believe in them" at this Tomoyo let go of her brother and turned to Eriol who at that time had a sad smile and a determined look plastered in his face.
"Yukito, Tomoyo, Eriol hurry up we need to leave this place!!" Touya said running back at the three upon noticing that they stopped following their lead out of the house.
Yukito look at his best friend and nod his head, he once again got hold of his sister's hand and pulled her gently as they started running towards the end of the tunnel with Eriol beside Tomoyo.

"You will not harm my wife!!" King Juclesius said standing in front of Sonomi as a soldier was advancing towards them. Clashing of swords were heard as blows were heard around the room as the army outside were starting to fire their canyon to destroy the house.
As the soldier fell forward because of the sword that, the King thrust in to him, the room they were in started to crumble, the ceiling cracking and unfortunately it gave out and debris came falling down at the Queen. Upon seeing this the King jump towards his wife to block her from the falling debris that will end her life. The two fell down together the King on top of her.
At the sight of his King on top of her blood coming out from the corners of his lips, eyes close and arms supporting his weight because of the big rubble at his back Sonomi started to panic.
"Oh my god! Juclesius, why did you do it?!" Sonomi said aloud to his husband as she crawled out from under him and tried to remove the rubble from his back. After succeeding in removing and helping his husband out under the debris she sat down and hugged her husband as tears started to well up in her eyes.
"No, this can't be, No!! its all my fault" Sonomi said aloud as she closed her eyes
A hand wipe the tears that are now falling from Sonomi's eyes at this Sonomi looked down at her King. Juclesius gave her a sad smile and said "Don't... cry...(cough).. my dear, its not your fault..." Juclesius cough harder blood coming out as well
"Don't talk my love, rest and be still" Sonomi said sobbing at the same time as more tears came running out of her eyes
"Remember that... I- will always love you, you and our children...(cough) be strong... for them and don't blame yourself I did this because" Juclesius said slowly, hands on her cheeks
"because I... love... you--" this were his last words before his hands fell and his breathing stopped.
"No, No, don't die on me Juclesius, NO!!" Sonomi shouted and buried her head to her husbands chest as more and more tears (if that was possible) fell out of her beautiful eyes.
Nadeshiko upon hearing her cousin's scream came rushing towards her, once she found them she saw her cousin head buried in her husband chest crying hard. She rushed to her side, rubbed Sonomi's back in a comforting way, Sonomi turned, and once seeing her cousin she cried harder. Nadeshiko hugged her and whispered soothing words to stop her from crying.
King Thaddeus, Duke Fujitaka, General Wu and wife Yelan noticed what happened came rushing towards Nadeshiko and Sonomi, once they reach the two the whole hall was destroyed and they were cornered by extra soldiers with the seal of Devintaea on their armor.
A harsh laughed was heard and from the soldiers that cornered them a big, muscular, ugly man with thick beard came forward
"Hahaha, we finally caught you, I'm General Lucas of Devintaea" the big, muscular man and so on... said
"We didn't expect to beat you that easily, the queen would be so happy to see you" he added and then turned to his army "TAKE THEM AWAY!!" he shouted and then left laughing grimly
They were drag one by one, soldiers pushing them towards the opening, Sonomi kept on crying and took hold of her husband's hands the guards had to force and beat her to let go. Nadeshiko immediately came rushing to her side to stop the guards from beating her and to force her to let go. She whispered soothing words to convince her and in the end, she let go still crying, face in her cousin's chest.

Meanwhile...
Touya raised his hands to stop the others from continuing outside; he turns and places his index finger upon his lips to silence them. He peek outside making sure that nobody was on sight, the forest was dark the only source of light was the moon. There were four horses, ready in case of things as this happens, waiting for them; they were now far and safe away from the summerhouse thanks to the secret tunnel.
Sure that no ones on sight he went out of the tunnel through the forest and then gestured the others that it was safe to go out.
"We need to separate, to warn our country of the coming danger," Touya said
"Syaoran and Prince Eriol return to your country and try to plan a defense while you still can" Touya said facing the two, after saying this he face his other companion and said
"Yukito, Sakura and Tomoyo you will come with me back to Brittany"
"But brother..." Sakura started
"No buts Sakura this is for your own--" he was cut off by Syaoran before he could say anything more
"No, I will not go anywhere without my fiancé," he said stubbornly
Touya turned to his future brother in law, anger beginning to rise
"She will go back with me and that's final!!" Touya shouted back at Syaoran, before Syaoran could react
"Please, brother let me go with him" Sakura interrupted, before Touya could say anything more
"Admiral to stop you from worrying I would go with her" Tomoyo added
"No, Tomoyo you won't go" Yukito said
"But brother, its better this way at least Admiral Touya won't be so worried" Tomoyo answered back stubbornly at Yukito, "Tomoyo it would be safer if you were with me, and who would protect you when you go with them?! Mother and Father would--" before he could continue
"Don't worry Prince Yukito I would protect her, I would keep her safe, I promise" Eriol cut in
"So do I, I would keep Sakura safe no matter what happened" Syaoran added, Yukito and Touya look at the two, each one having a stubborn and determined look meaning that they won't leave with out Tomoyo and Sakura. Touya and Yukito look at each other for a while until Yuikito finally decided
"Ok very well I will allow my sister to go with you but if anything happens to her" Yukito said looking at Eriol "You would be responsible, keep her safe no matter what, like what you promised" he added looking straight at Eriol.
Eriol nodded and then "You have my word" he said bowing his head as a sign of respect and sincerity
"Ok then, I trust your word" Yukito said placing his hand on Eriol's shoulder. Meanwhile Touya nod his head and agreed at the decision, he face Syaoran giving him a hard look
"If anything happens to my sister, don't think about what I would do to you, you'll be really sorry" he said
"I promise nothing would happen to her, I will protect her with all my heart" Syaoran said bowing as well
After everything was settled, they went their separate ways, Tomoyo riding Eriol's back, and Sakura on Syaoran's back.

Devintaea...
"My Queen we caught all the royalties, all six of them excluding King Juclesius who died, what do you want us to do with them?" Lucas said bowing in front of Kaho.
Kaho who was sitting at her throne at that time raise one of her eyebrows and then asked
"Only six?"
"Yes, your highness" Lucas answered
"Where are the other six?!" she said standing up, Lucas back away a little afraid of his Queens action but answered with a low voice "There were all six of them alive when we got there, no more no less"
"What?! Is Prince Eriol with them!?!" Kaho shouted
"I'm not sure your highness but I didn't see either Prince Yukito or the Princess" Lucas answered
"Stupid!! Bastard!! I told you to capture all the Royalties!!" Kaho said anger reflecting in her voice
"I'm sorry your--"
"Go back there and look for them, they might be on there way to Brittany or Normandy!!" Kaho cut him off "And tell my other generals to attack the two Kingdom immediately and if they ever get hold of the Princes and Princess and their companion bring them immediately here, understood!?!, I want them here alive!!"
"Yes, your highness" Lucas answered still bowing
"What are you waiting for, GO!! I want them now!!" Kaho said barking at him. Lucas scrambled to his feet and run out of the door, afraid for his dear life.
Kaho sat back down and summoned her floating orb over "Show me where Prince Eriol is" she said
Once she saw Eriol riding a horse with Tomoyo anger reflected her eyes "I will have you soon my Prince, soon" she said with a low menacing voice.

The night was dark trees were everywhere and the only source of light was the full moon, the only sound that could be heard were the hooves of horses that are running as fast as they could towards their destination.
The two couple was riding as fast as they could in able to reach Normandy as soon as possible. Tomoyo clings on to Eriol as tight as she could in able not to fall the fast pace they were going.
She could smell the strong but sweet perfume he was wearing and feel the hard muscles underneath her touch. She buried her head to Eriol's back as she holds on tight to him, the wind blowing hard on to them.
As they neared, they could already hear blows coming from the city, sparks of light were seen and they knew at once that they were too late. The army of Devintaea was already there, they could only hope that their people were safe and that the remaining generals were ready of the intruder.
As they entered the city they could see dead bodies everywhere, they continued their pace trying to get to the castle. As they neared the castle, a soldier suddenly came out of nowhere aiming at them with his bow and arrow, he released the arrow and went straight at Eriol and Tomoyo's horse making the horse fall.
Eriol seeing what the soldier planed to do promptly turned to Tomoyo holding her close and then jumping right away off the horse to avoid the arrow. Once they fell down, they rolled over each other on the ground, Eriol holding Tomoyo tight shielding her from possible danger. Once they stop rolling Eriol look instantly down at Tomoyo, whom was at his arms, to check if she is all right
"Tomoyo are you alright?" he said softly, Tomoyo groan because of the impact of the fall and then opened her eyes "Yes, I'm alright" she answered, just when Eriol was about to say something
"Eriol look out," Syaoran shouted as the soldier came rushing forward at them, Eriol stood up right away sword in his hand.
The soldier attack him with great force but Eriol, being good at sword fighting, block his assault easily. The soldier continued to strike at him but Eriol being good duck his attack and with one swift move thrust his sword at his opponent making him fall right away. As the soldier drop on his knees, hands on his wound by the stomach, Syaoran and Sakura came rushing towards them to make sure if their ok.
Once the soldier fell down Eriol hurriedly rush towards Tomoyo helping her up and then embracing her tight glad that nothing happened to her.
"Thank god your alright Tomoyo" he said burying his head on her hair, Tomoyo embrace him back burying her head on his chest
"I'm alright, don't worry" she whispered on his chest
"Tomoyo are you ok?" Sakura asked once they were near the couple, she raised one of her brows at the sight of the two, and a small, mischievous smile appeared on her lips
"Ahem" Syaoran made a noise to get the couple's attention that seems not heard Sakura's question.
Upon hearing Li the couple look up and then immediately broke the embrace, blushing at what the two saw. Sakura smiled even wider and Li just smirk regarding their action once they saw them.
Before any of them ever had a comment more soldiers came rushing towards them, Syaoran and Eriol prepared their sword to defend them selves against the coming soldiers. Eriol and Li went in front of Tomoyo and Sakura to shield them from the attacking soldiers.
Clashing of sword were heard and Eriol and Li could be seen thrusting their swords towards their opponent protecting the two but they can not stay that way for long more soldiers came hurrying towards them.
Eriol had to decide, once he had killed one of the soldiers attacking them he pulled Tomoyo towards Li's horse, seeing what Eriol planned to do Syaoran did the same to Sakura
"Tomoyo, ride with Sakura back to the castle, it would be safer there than here" he said
"But Eriol we just can't leave--" Tomoyo was cut off by Eriol
"You must, I promise your safety to your brother" Eriol said pleading with his eyes
"Tomoyo you and Sakura must go" Syaoran said as she load Sakura on to the back of his horse
"I already promise her that we would be fine, don't worry" he added, Tomoyo looked at them before she nod her head and went behind Sakura
"Be careful Syaoran" Sakura said as she bent down and kissed Syaoran, Syaoran kiss her back and then turned around to block one of the soldiers
"You too Eriol" Tomoyo said holding Eriol's hand but to her surprise Eriol pulled her hand down to kiss her passionately on the lips before he let go and strike the horse to go towards the castle
"Don't worry," he shouted as Tomoyo looks back at him for a moment with sad eyes and then turns her head towards their destination. After seeing them go Eriol turned back to the battle whispering under his breath "I will be safe for you my love" before he cut off the head of one of his opponent who came rushing towards him.

As they neared, the castle Sakura and Tomoyo could see the rest of the soldiers of Normandy advancing towards their direction. She stops her horse to tell them the situation
"Hurry, the Prince needs you help" she shouted to them, the captain of the troupe look up at them
"What happened? Where's the Prince?" he said
"The Prince needs your help, they are being attacked, the soldiers that are left their needs back up"
"You must hurry" Tomoyo shouted, the captain nod his head and then shouted
"Hurry troupe, advance!!" the soldiers behind him started to dart forward, the captain having seen Tomoyo before recognized her, he stopped his advance and approached them
"You must be Princess Tomoyo" he bowed a little but continued
"Please hurry back towards the castle it would be safer there" he then turned and called two of his soldiers who remained with him
"Accompany Princess Tomoyo and Lady Sakura back to the castle" he said, his soldiers nod their heads
"Thank you" Tomoyo said as they headed for the castle the two soldiers by their sides.

"Li watch out" Eriol shouted as he saw one of the soldiers came rushing towards Li
Li block the sword of the soldier he currently fighting with and with one swift move thrust his sword to him he then quickly discharge his sword out and swing quickly to the incoming soldier cutting the soldiers arm in the process. The soldier kneeled down holding his wrecked arm, Li having mercy to his opponent left him instead of killing him but as he fought with another soldier the one with no arm pulled a dagger from his boots with his uninjured arm and then stood up to stab him in the back.
Eriol saw what the soldier was about to do, quickly thrust his sword to his foe, and then went straight to the soldier advancing towards Li cutting his head in the process. As the headless soldier fell beside Li he thrust his sword to his enemy and then turned around looking quizzically at Eriol, Eriol just smirk and then turn back around saying the words "I just saved your life" Li just smirk at his best friend and then returned back to the battle.
The growing number of enemy finally cornered, having beaten the remaining Normandy soldiers who fought with their Prince, forming a circle around the Prince and his Captain as the two stood back to back swords in front.
"There's no use fighting my Prince, give it up already" a tall muscled man with dark skin and thick beard said to them as he came forward towards the Prince holding a magic bound on his hand to bound the Prince and his Captain.
"We will never give up" Eriol said harshly, eyes turning in to black from blue reflecting his anger.
"I'm General Decos, if you want to know your captor, I will bring you back to Devintaea either you want it or not" he said as he laugh cruelly at the two
"We won't go" Li barked back at him
"We won, you loose" he added pointing at himself and then at Eriol
"So give it up already, Princy" he said mockingly
"Never, you will have to kill me first before you conquer my country!!" Eriol said deadly
"Oh, is that so" Decos said at Eriol
"So be it, guards attack!!" he then shouted, the soldiers where about to attack when suddenly arrow rained over them killing soldiers in the process. And then a shout was heard "Men, attack!!"
Soldiers from Normandy came rushing towards them making the enemies panic, taking the opportunity Eriol raced towards Decos with his sword but Decos was good he block Eriol's attack easily.
The sounds of swords clashing together were heard as the two fought with each other. It was hard to determine who would win for the two were both good with swords.
"You will never defeat me, Princy" Decos said as they came close to one another, his sword blocking Eriol's sword
"That's what you think" Eriol said as he push Decos away with his sword, Decos jump back and then came rushing forward Eriol, Eriol block his sword with his, delivering a hard blow back at his opponent making him loose his balance, concentration and direction, Eriol then turned around and then thrust his sword at his opponents exposed side.
Decos eyes grew wide as he felt the sword, he fell down hands on his wounded stomach. Eriol turned and walked away not wanting to see his opponent die but as he turned away Decos stood up with his remaining strength, picked up his sword and rushed towards Eriol's back. Fortunately for Eriol Li, who saw what was about to happen, picked up a bow and arrow and aimed at the General making him fall with a loud cry.
Hearing the cry Eriol immediately turned his back and then saw his best friend smirking at him saying the exact words, he just said earlier ,"I just saved you life."
The battle continued the soldiers of Normandy not giving up, thinking that they must win this battle no matter what happened for their family and for their country.
With each one of them determined to win, they defeated the enemy sending them away from their beloved country and saving all the people from their destruction.

After the war, that would surely be in Normandy's history, the place was a bloody mess, scattered dead bodies where every where, bodies that either had arrows in it or swords thrust in to them were every where some were even headless because of the brutal war.
Eriol check on his remaining soldier proud that they did not give up until the end and stood up against their opponent to protect their country. He prayed deep inside that Brittany also won their battle against Devintaea and that the Prince Yukito and Admiral Kinomoto are safe together with their people.
"Captain Solon make sure that everyone would be taken care of" Eriol said to his Captain as he climbed up his horse that Solon gave him
"Yes your highness" Solon said bowing down at Eriol
"If any problems are encountered report to me immediately, I would be going back to the castle to check if the things are fine" Eriol added once he was seated properly
"Yes your highness" Solon answered
"I will be sending in help, to take care of those who are wounded" he said holding on to the reins of his horse
"Thank you your highness" Solon said
"Very well, take care then" Eriol said and went off to the castle together with Syaoran.

"I can't believe this!! You stupid fool!! We lost the battle against Normandy!!" Kaho shouted back at one of the soldiers who returned from Normandy
"Yes your highness" the soldier said softly as he bowed in front of the raging Queen
"I can't believe this!! You Bastard why did you let it happen!?!" she said out loud, she sat down at her throne and closed her eyes, she rubbed her temples trying to think of what to do next
"But your majesty, the Prince and his companions were too strong, we were out numbered easily" the soldier answered her
"Very well then, torture the Royalties immediately, let them suffer and feel pain" Kaho said, looking harshly at the soldier in front of her
"Yes your majesty" the soldier answered as he scrambled out of the door
"You will pay for this Eriol, just you wait" She said out loud
"I will get my revenge on you," she said as she looked at Tomoyo's reflection in her floating orb.
« Ï Ï Ï «
"My lady please sit down and be calm" one of the servants said as Sakura keeps pacing around the big room. Sakura and Tomoyo were brought to stay at the big study room of the castle, the room was filled with shelves of books, a big table was placed in the middle of the room and in front of it are two big couches. They were left there to stay for a while until all things are settled in and outside of the castle.
Tomoyo was seated at one of the couches, deep in thoughts; she was touching her lips that just a while ago were kissed by Eriol. She immediately looked up at the comment of the servant about Sakura who was still pacing around the room
"Sakura would you please sit down" Tomoyo said gently to her best friend, Sakura looked at her and then sigh "I'm just worried about Syaoran and Eriol, what if they're hurt? What if they are--" before she could continue the door burst open with a disheveled looking Syaoran and Eriol.
Sakura and Tomoyo instantly look up at the two, upon seeing the two Sakura immediately rush to Syaoran and hug him with all her might
"Oh god's Syaoran I was so worried about you" Sakura whispered at his chest, Syaoran smiled down at her and hug her back kissing her hair "I told you we would be safe"
Meanwhile at Tomoyo and Eriol…
Tomoyo look at Eriol as he came over her. Eriol stop in front of her and then gently cupped Tomoyo's cheeks "I'm glad that you got here in good condition," he said smiling sweetly at her, lightly caressing her cheeks with his thumb, Tomoyo leaned in to his touch closing her eyes at the same time
"I'm glad that nothing happened to you Eriol" Tomoyo whispered, Eriol smiled even wider and then gently brought her to his embrace.
Before any of them could say anything, a blow suddenly erupted causing the big windows to shatter, Eriol quickly shield Tomoyo as they bent down to avoid the shattered glasses flying all over the place, luckily for Sakura and Syaoran that they were far away from the window unlike Eriol and Tomoyo.
After a while a ruthless laugh was heard near the broken windows, Eriol and Tomoyo looked up and saw a woman with red hair wearing a black gown laughing at them
"Hahaha, you are both lucky enough that my blow was not that strong or you are both dead" the woman said, she was floating towards them together with his servant
Eriol stood up pulling Tomoyo closer to him to protect her from any harm and then he looked at the woman with his deathly glare
"Kaho" he hissed, Kaho laugh even harder
"Uh, uh, uh, that's not the right way to greet your guest" Kaho said shaking her head mockingly
"What do you want!?!" Eriol spat back at her
"I only came here, to get one thing" she said raising her hand, suddenly Tomoyo came out of Eriol grasp as if someone was holding her neck and bringing her up
"Tomoyo!!" Eriol shouted as he immediately reach up to Tomoyo but before he could reach her, he was thrown to the wall with an immense force
Syaoran having seen what happened immediately delivered a fireball at Kaho but she was fast and much stronger she easily blocked the blow with her own power. Sakura came rushing to Eriol's side to help him up
"I only came here for her," Kaho said pointing at Tomoyo who was now being held by Marcus
"If you want her come and get her," she added as they vanished in thin air leaving them with her spiteful laugh.
