Chapter 1: Into the Game!

"Come over after school to play Diablo II Expansion: Lord of Destruction with me, Claira!" I called excitedly to my best friend, "And Yuri, you come too! It'll be awesome, just us three!" Claira yawned a fake yawn and pretended to be bored, "I'm an Inuyasha Freak, remember? I'm not interested in your little Diablo game." I grin, thinking about how Claira loves anything creepy, so no way she'll resist a game like this! "Oh really," I asked, "Not even killing demons from hell will catch your attention now?" That got her. Her face turned a bright tomato red and she replied slowly, "Well, I guess I still like that." I smiled, a triumphant look on my face, and walked my friends into our homeroom class, where kids are waiting for the school bus to show up. "Enjoy yourselves," I said sarcastically, "The stupid bus doesn't come until half an hour later." Yuri and Claira both groaned and sat down on the floor next to me. We watched a show on TV for little toddlers, but made fun of it was more of what it was. Screeeeech! Finally! The bus braked suddenly in front of our school building. We climbed aboard and chose three empty seats, one for each of us, all to ourselves. "So, what is Diablo like, anyway?" Claira asked me, "After all, you have been talking about it forever!" "It's the coolest game ever!" Was all I could exclaim, "You will LOVE it! Wait 'till you see!" We arrived at my apartment and we went into my room and turned on the computer. The picture of Diablo II Expansion filled the screen. "Let's start a new game!" I said, "Choose your characters." "Amazon!" Yuri shouted, "Bows and arrows rock! Oh yeah!" "Fine," I said, "I CHOOSE PALADIN! Claira?" "I guess I'll be that big muscular guy," Claira said uncertainly, as because she had never played this game before. It was a Barbarian, a good choice for a beginner. I clicked on the Begin Game button and watched the screen load. Suddenly, a white misty fog filled the room. "This isn't supposed to happen!" I yell loudly. Around and around the mist went, and we spun with it as if some invisible force was twirling us. We began to fade, first slowly, then rapidly. The world around us disappeared. THUD! We hit the ground hard, but the surroundings around us were different. "Hello," said a mystical voice, "Welcome to the Rogue Encampment, strangers."
