STAR WARS: ESCAPE FROM MECHIS III

PROLOGUE

IG-88B sat at the piloting seat of the B-27 courier vessel of Holowan Laboratories. IG-88B was one of the five droids that had escaped from the facility after annihilating its inhabitance. Bent on the ludicrous plan of making the universe their own personal domain, the IG-88 assassin droids sped there way toward Mechis III, a major droid manufacturing planet far from Holowan Labs.

The imperial officer who order their creation, Supervisor Gurdun, would be most surprised upon his visit to the ruined facility. A LOT of the Empire's money was being tossed at this project. Later, Imperial Supervisor Gurdun would send a dismantle-on-sight order all over the galaxy on the missing IG-88's

Upon arrival, a binary linked conversation began that queried the plan to gain control over Mechis III. Hanging high out of range of planet's detection equipment, the droids planned for 3.8 seconds. The assassin droids, built with special sentience programming, were very subtle in their planning.

Mechis III had little artillery power to protect it self, which was a good thing because the stolen vessel was unarmed and unshielded as well. Careful maneuvering was required to sneak up on the human interference living on Mechis III. If IG-88 was going to kill them all, he had to do quickly and quietly and without any alarms going off.

When a suitable plan was agreeded upon, the IG-88's moved in on the planet. One of the droids sent a message requesting the alarm system to shut it self down. When the system responded, the droid found a path and in a burst of binary infiltrated the alarm and shut it down. The swift courier vessel sped to a closer orbit around Mechis III. Even with the alarms off, someone could manually turn them back on and set them off.

Nearing the smoking surface of the planet, IG-88D scanned for docking bays that were remote of biological taint. Centering on a small, inclosed landing pad, much like the ones from Holowan Labs, IG-88D directed B to it's doors.

They reprogrammed the landing bay doors using frequencies that floated about Mechis III, and opened the door for their shuttle. They made a smooth landing in the center and marched out the ship, single file.

The docking bay was large and colored machine gray. The walls were held by structured bars that sealed the dome shaped room. In the corner of the building, a silvery figure fluttered in panic.

A protocol droid frantically ran after them.

'Sirs! Sirs! You do not have permission to land...'

In a rapid shot of coding, IG-88C overrode 3D-4X's circuits. There was a minor lagging time in which the droid did not move. Then suddenly—

'I apologize, sirs. I am 3D-4X at your service.'

The droids began a binary conversation with 3D-4X. 'We are here to take control of Mechis III. We request a report on all human interference.'

'Of course, sirs.' said 3D-4X. A small count of 73 human, mostly engineers, lived on planet Mechis III were they monitored the contruction machinery that hadn't glitched in several centuries. 'We have work to do.' said IG-88A.
