Okay, just a note: I went and saw the movie last Saturday.  It was pretty good; I liked the little bits with the students' character cameos. 

And I agree with Fata Morgana in that Bobby's parents weren't really disgusted by him – they were more concerned and probably a bit confused and disheartened because their son wasn't 'normal.' 

Still, that gets me to the second part of my note.  Someone said that I should see the movie first.  I wrote this before I saw it (way before it actually – like sometime in late March) because once I know all of the context and the surrounding conversation and how his parents reacted, I don't think I would've been able to write anything based on that.  Sometimes it's more interesting to just analyze a little quote and build a little vignette/paragraph around it and then see how close you were to the actual thing.  So that's why I didn't see the movie first (that and I couldn't see the movie in March/April).
