I'll Remember
Say good-bye to not knowing when
The truth in my whole life began
Say good-bye to not knowing how to cry
You taught me that
Tears spilled from Eriol Hiiragizawa's cheek and down onto the green grass. He looked at the grave of his beloved Tomoyo and his heart broke. How could she leave him like this? She was supposed to be the one that lived with him through everything. Memories of the past came flooding back to him.
Tomoyo was always there for him through everything. In the beginning when he first came to Japan on duty, all he cared about was finishing it so that he would be free. And he was also heart-broken, causing him to be bitter to everyone. Someone had left him, and she had created a dark shadow that constantly reminded him of the pain he felt. He had thought that he was meant to be with her for eternity, but she proved him wrong. He let his anger out on everyone. Tomoyo unexpectedly taught him how to care and what love was. She changed him to a way that he never knew was possible.
And I'll remember the strength that you gave me
Now that I'm standing on my own
I'll remember the way that you saved me
I'll remember
Inside I was a child
That could not mend a broken wing
Outside I looked for a way
To teach my heart to sing
Now, he looked down at her grave. She had taught him so much and had filled up the empty caves of his heart. She gave him the strength he needed to move on. And now, he lost the person he thought he was destined to be with once again.
And I'll remember the love that you gave me
Now that I'm standing on my own
I'll remember the way that you changed me
I'll remember
Nakuru, Spinel, and everyone else had tried everything to get him to continue on with his life, but he just wouldn't. Every time he tried, Tomoyo's face would appear in his mind.
I learned to let go of the illusion that we can possess
I learned to let go, I travel in stillness
And I'll remember happiness
I'll remember
And I'll remember the love that you gave me
Now that I'm standing on my own
I'll remember the way that you changed me
I'll remember
The sun shined over the clouds. Eriol's tears stopped pouring. He looked at the landscape around him. He sighed. He knew that he had to get over her. He would always think of her, but no longer in vain. It was just time to move on.
Nakuru came to his side. "Are you ready to leave, master?" she asked, also looking at Tomoyo's grave. "It's a shame Mistress Tomoyo passed away so early."
"Yes…" Eriol answered.
They turned around and walked toward home. Eriol glanced back at the grave, and silently promised Tomoyo to never forget her.
No I've never been afraid to cry
Now I finally have a reason why
I'll remember
The End
A/N: if you're sad about the end, I warned you. *stares at her house that was burned down while she went out * Now please review! If some people want a happier ending, I might write one if I get over 12 reviews, but I don't think the ending was that bad. And in case anyone is wondering why the hell I would kill off Tomoyo *I can't believe that I really killed off one of my favorite characters* , I don't know, I just felt like writing something sad.
