Call me crazy (SARCASM!), but I've always had suspicions about the pictures of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy hanging over my bed. I printed them from the Sonic Adventure disc for my Dreamcast and stuck them on my wall with double-sided tape. Perhaps when I'm at school, the characters hop out of the pictures and mess around. Such was the inspiration for my latest story...

Picture Imperfect

Disclaimer: I do not own or have permission to use the characters of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy. Those are copyrighted by Sonic Team.

Author's note: If it's too short, which it probably is, it's probably because I can't think of a lot of story for this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Monday:
I was just typing up the third chapter for my ongoing story, "The Fan(n) Girls." Then, my mother called me for school. "Coming," I yelled as I left the room.
As soon as I was out the door, Sonic peeked out from his picture on my wall. "Coast is clear, guys," he said after a few seconds. Then he jumped down.
Tails woke up and climbed down to join Sonic. Knuckles hopped down as well. Amy put down her handful of parcels and slid down my bedpost.
"All right, everyone," Sonic said. "Now that he's gone- Amy, quit looking at me like that- let's do whatever we want. Dismissed."
Within seconds all four had spread out throughout my room. Sonic was in the southeast corner mixing up the videos on my shelf. Tails was playing with the humidifier in the southwest corner, not noticing that it was empty. Amy was playing with the cushions on my spare bed at the northeast, glancing lovingly at Sonic every now and then. Knuckles was messing with the clothes in my dresser at the west wall.
"Switch!" Sonic called after about two hours. Everyone changed positions. Now Knuckles was mixing up the clothes in my closet at the southeast, Sonic was messing with the trash in my trash can to the southwest, Amy was watching my TV (and Sonic) on top of my dresser, and Tails was listening to my radio, which is to the north.
After about two hours more, Sonic called "Switch!" again. Now Sonic was throwing away several pimple-cream tissues, Amy was fixing her dress (and glancing at Sonic) in the mirror hanging over my video shelf, Knuckles was playing my Game Boy Advance (which I left on my spare bed), and Tails was shuffling the DVDs on my rack on top of my dresser.
Another two hours passed. Sonic was about to call "Switch!" again when Tails interrupted. "I hate to break things up, but he's almost home."
"Oh my gosh!"
"We have to hurry!"
"No time to lose!"
Sonic and Amy climbed up my bedposts to their respective pictures. Tails twisted his twin tails up and flew back to his picture. Knuckles used a stack of CDs as a perch to glide over to his picture. Everyone got back into their original poses just as I walked in.
As I sat down on my folding chair and glanced at the pictures, I thought I saw Sonic blink.
Nahhhhhhhhh.

THE END

P.S. In case you're wondering, I did not use a compass to determine the cardinal directions (north, southeast, et cetera). I used the knowledge that I can see the sun rise outside my bedroom window, and the fact that it always rises to the east.

One last thing: I'd include a snapshot of the pictures of Sonic and friends, but I don't want to pay the fee for Profile Picture.
