"It's okay." She said, although it wasn't okay. It was Christmas and she was alone. Just like every year. Serena tried to persuade her, to come to her, but she didn't want to. She wanted to be alone.

Lita closed the door. Serena still stood outside. "You can come to us!" Serena shouted through the closed door.

"I don't want to!"

"Why?"

The door opened again. "Serena, please. I want to be alone. I know you worry about me, but I'm fine. Go home and have a nice Christmas."

Lita wanted to close the door again, but Serena put one of her feet between it. "I won't go until you come with me."

Lita sighed. "Geez, okay, fine. I'm coming with you." Serena jumped happily into the air. "But, only for a short time."

"What do you mean by 'Short time'? You'll stay with us the whole evening!"

"In your dreams." Lita grabbed a jacket and went outside. It was snowing and some kids were building snowmen's. Ten minutes later they arrived at Serena's. Serena opened the door.

"Mum? I'm home. Lita is going to stay with us this evening."

No answer. Serena turned round to Lita who was a bit angry. "I said I wouldn't stay here the whole evening."

"Come on, it'll be fun."

Both girls walked into the living room. A huge Christmas tree was standing in the right corner. Lita looked at it. "This is a really huge Christmas tree!"

"Yeah." Serena said surprising. "I thought it would be . be .. ."

"Smaller."

"Yeah. I mean, I saw the tree but this is definitely another one."

Suddenly Serena's mother walked into the room too. "Hello Lita. How are you?"

"Fine, thanks."

"She's going to stay with us this evening.", Serena explained.

"Fine.", her mother answered. "Well, I have to do some things yet. You two could go upstairs and talk while I prepare the meal."

"Okay." Serena said and pulled Lita upstairs into her room.

Lita walked into Serena's bedroom and sat down on the bed. Serena sat down beside her.

"Are you okay?" Serena asked worried.

"Not really."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I always was alone on Christmas since my parents died." Lita made a pause.

"Well," Serena started, "You won't be alone this Christmas. If you want to or not!"

Lita smiled.

After dinner Lita said goodbye to everyone and went home. Serena stood in front of the window. "Mum? I'm going to Mina. I'll be back in five minutes."

"What do you want at Mina's?"

"I forgot to give her a present." Serena lied. In reality she followed Lita, because she'd walked in a different direction than her home was. Finally Serena found Lita at the graveyard kneeing in front of a big grave. Serena hid behind a tree, watching Lita. She was praying, her eyes closed. After some minutes she opened her eyes and looked on the grave.

"Thank you." She said. "Thank you for my friends and thank you for not being alone on Christmas anymore.
