The Power of Four
Chapter 1:
Piper Halliwell wandered through the mansion, looking for her sister Paige. "Paige? Hello? Paige where are you?" Just then in a swirl of blue and white light Paige orbed in next to her carrying a small object. The object was black in color and was shaped like a small corset. Two parallel lines that curve inward. "What the hell is that?" asked Piper. "This," Paige said holding it up, "is the spine of Osiris. It is said to hold the power of resurrection. I was thinking you might like it as a birthday present. But now you've ruined the surprise. What is it you wanted?" Paige asked with her usual raised eye expression and tilt of her head. "Well. I was going to ask you for help," she said taking the spine and examining it. "I think there is a demon after us, once again." She looked up at Paige, and then set down the spine on a nearby table. "Phoebe, where are you?" Piper asked. Phoebe walked in gracefully, hair put up in a swirl of curly locks. Her attire included a black no back, straps across the back dress. "And how do I look? Beautiful, I know!" she smiled brightly. "And where do you think you're going?" Phoebe's warm smile vanished and she nervously laughed then smiled uneasily. "Didn't I tell you? I am going out with Jason in about a half hour." She looked at Paige. "You didn't tell her? Heh heh." Piper let out an exasperated sigh. 'Sometimes I think she is the most irresponsible person on the planet.' Piper folded her arms across her chest, and gave Phoebe the, keep-dreaming-cause-you're-not-going-out-look. "No, I have to go Piper. I promised Jason, and he is getting so tired of me canceling on him. Don't look at me like that. Ohh come on Piper." Phoebe was acting like she might cry, but Piper knew she was just trying to guilt her into letting her go. She'd lived with her for, well all her life. "Hey, hey! There will be no fighting on Piper's birthday. Phoebe you're just going to have to go another time. For god sakes it's your sister's birthday. Plus there is a demon after us. I think." "What? What kind of demon? Is it here now?" asked Phoebe, her face showing the wrinkles acquired from years of battling the forces of darkness.
