Mezo Sinitra wakes up late in the night. Her
clock reads midnight and she swears under her breath. Oh well, she thinks while
getting dressed for another night of murder, the later the night the easier to
kill. Though she wasn't sure she would find anyone to kill. She walked out of
her house locking up, dress in complete black so no mortal would see her,
though she could see them perfectly. Walking into town was no problem; all the
shops and stores were closed for the night and all the lights were out. This
was a little suspicious. She shrugged off the feeling and kept walking.
Remember your goal. But, the feeling of being watched never left her. Finally
there were footsteps behind her; getting closer and closer by each movement she
made. She turned to face a young man, no older than nineteen-years-old.
"What do you want with me?" Mezo shouted
furiously, fire growing in her hazel eyes.
"Something... Nothing at all." He said quietly
with a twisted smile.
"What is that supposed to mean?" She said
moving closer. He didn't move or look scared.
"It means I want something of you that you don't
have." His eyes were now blinding her. Who was this guy?
"Something I don't have? Really, what is it."
She put her hands on her hips and tapped her toes impatiently.
"Your soul."
"My soul?"
"Yes."
"But why?!" He grimaced and shifted
unconfortablely.
"To prove you're not a vampire. I'm sorry for the
mistake." Mezo grinned showing sharp teeth.
"But, my dearest, I am a vampire." He didn't look
surprised, and his expression didn't change. He didn't even look at her.
"Then I'm sorry I have to do this." He pulled
a wooden spear out of his back pocket.
"My name is Cai, if you're wondering." I knew it;
Mezo thought sadly, I knew he had to be the vampire slayer I've heard about. At
that moment there was no turning back.
